I am trying to figure out how a
thread with
16 replies and 690 views can be awarded deck load of gold stars
So how are these thread awards rated ?

You click in the appropriate star to rate a thread for interest, usefulness, etc. then the ratings for a thread are averaged and that's what you see.

I was looking and looking and found the one your talking about,I had no clue,it wasn't me!
One shouldn't vote on their own thread.....unless you hit it by accident,which happened to me on someone else's thread.How about the ones that only have 3 replies and less than 150 views.

views to reply ratio really

I haven't paid much attention to threads' ratings before. I don't bother to rate them. In theory though, I think they're suppose to help members easily find the most popular or most interesting threads.
