BO, aromatase, low T?

#1

Hi.

As I understand it, the basis of how/why BO works is to increase aromatase, which converts testosterone to estrogen, but if your T level is really low, wouldn't that greatly kill the effectiveness of BO?

Am I missing something?

Hi Julie,

That's actually the intended process, it saturates or tricks your Testosterone into thinking enough T is being produced. BO saturates the T receptors with E and blocks off the T, at that point the Hypothalamus stops sending hormone signals to your pituitary to produce more T.

The excess E affects your free T which now will be bound (or locked) and become unavailable, I'm doing a thread about Testosterone which I'll be explaining more about this process later.

Hope this gives ya a better description. Smile

Hi there LittleMissS and a belated welcome, glad I can help! Smile

Now here's where things can get interesting, Julie mentions aromatase, which converts T into E, so if BO shutdowns your T, how much T can be converted?. Well it's hard to give a specific amount but that FREE T is what we're talking about. And Free T is roughly about 2% and some have as high as 5%. Doesn't seem like a lot in terms of percentages but it's a big deal. Anyways aromatase, IMO would take up most of what is still available based on what you supplement with to achieve aromatase which is listed in the FAQ supplement section.
