Gender Guesser Based On Word Usage

#1

This is kinda cool.

http://www.hackerfactor.com/GenderGuesser.php

It's a thingy that guesses your gender based on your word usage. I stuck in one of my blog posts and it came out with :

Quote:Genre: Informal
Female = 1175
Male = 623
Difference = -552; 34.64%
Verdict: FEMALE

Better than ZERO on that other test ^_^ With 'formal' it was neutral.

Interesting test.

I submitted a report on an article when I was 18. My results are:

Genre: Formal
Female = 927
Male = 867
Difference = -60; 48.32%
Verdict: Weak FEMALE

Weak emphasis could indicate European.

Here's a letter I wrote when I was 18:

Genre: Informal
Female = 638
Male = 1145
Difference = 507; 64.21%
Verdict: MALE

A report I wrote for college in my mid-20s:

Genre: Formal
Female = 859
Male = 1972
Difference = 1113; 69.65%
Verdict: MALE

Some diary entries I wrote in my mid-20s:

Genre: Informal
Female = 1254
Male = 3396
Difference = 2142; 73.03%
Verdict: MALE

I also ran a few tests on my posts on BN and came up with mixed results.

As an experienced writer I'm too good at gaming these. If I were to dump a writing sample from one of my stories in, it'll give me the gender of my narrator, which usually isn't me. If I dump a writing sample from my Facebook though it usually rates me as female, but barely. Probably because I have an extremely large vocabulary and am not shy about using all of it, regardless how my word choice might be interpreted gender-wise. Makes me difficult to gender in conversation based on word choice alone, but it does tend to make me come across as "stuffy" or "stuck-up" even though I'm really not.
