Some people have said that there are only more transsexuals now because we can all talk to each other and there is more exposure and there has always been the same number.
WELL I DISSAGREE
Mainly because I remember vividly seeing am image of a TS with 2 years HRT and her breasts were just adorable, it was OMG moment.
Also I am pretty certain that if I had not seen that image , I would not be where I am now,
Also the temptation of sneaking a peek at all you gorgeous girls makes me want to continue,
If the internet was not there, then I would not be peeking and would not be growing,
Now agreed the classic TS who has known from early child hood, then yes, they would be driven to their ultimate conclusion, but I am convinced there are many borderline TG people who are now women because of the internet ,
They get encouraged, they get the herbs/hrt, they fall over the fence.
All the while looking and being fuelled by quick glances on the ipad instead of watching Tv etc.
This is so with me, I am borderline something, not a clue what, and can go for weeks/months with a don’t look, don’t contact , then one quick look at Poly breasts, and reach for the pm tub or gel.
The internet is one of the best things for Mankind, am just saying it breeds Transsexuals

Hi Julie,
Whilst the internet makes a difference in terms of access to information and resources the biggest thing for me is greater prevalence of trans people in the media both traditional (tv, radio, newspapers) and new media (internet, social media etc). It is also more socially accepted these days as well as a number of people have commented to me when they were told.
Yes it is possible that some are encouraged and therefore there is weight to your argument about increased numbers who are visible but maybe because its easier and more socially accepted people dont live a life in denial. I guess many years ago when the options werent available people tried to live their lives as best they could. This was recently on the bbc website and I guess it sums up what I am saying perfectly:
