How to get over your ex?

#1

I just broke up with my boyfriend 6 weeks ago and I don't seem to be able to move on. This is a first for me since I have always loved being single and dating. I have actually had a few dating offers but I am so emotionaly numb at the moment that I have just said no.

I know in time it will get better but do you ladies know any methods to speed up the process? This is really taking a toll on my life and I hate feeling like this!!

Hi honey, i would love to say it will get better with time as it will but i know for a fact that means diddly squat to you at this exact moment lol i have had 3 break ups from long term relationships and they hurt, i think its the change in routine that you miss at the start, well i did and just the small things you use to do, all i did was try and make myself busy and not think about it, i dident feel like socialising but i kind of forced myself to go out, sometimes i would enjoy myself and others i would come back missing my ex even more lol its so hard, on my last break up i decided to grow boobs lol and put all my effort into that. I guess what im saying is you just got to get out there girl and enjoy yourself abit, dont get in another relationship for a while else it will just be a rebound and in 6 months time that could hurt you even more, i know its so easy to give advice on situations like this but im not in your shoes and i wish i had a magic wand to help you chick Smile but theres no quick fix, if there is i want to know it aswell lol i havent had a break up since becoming a woman so i dont know how different it will be for me as im so emotional nowDodgy but hang in there and feel free to pm me anytime you want to chat about anything. Hope this helped a little honey.

Lots of hugs Cheryl xxxxxx

Put all your energy into something you love or want to accomplish. I find doing some type of work (not crazy workaholic style though lol) keeps my mind of any type of problem.

I remember my last break up...it took me a good 6 months to get the courage up to finally start going near other guys. But I was silly and kept going back to the ex and letting him use me! And then I met my current boyfriend, who I have been with for 2 and a half years now!

Like the others said, just try to keep yourself busy, and surround yourself with positive people. Try to remember that while you probably had a good time while you were together, things happen for a reason, and you will be fine =)

Wow, that´s a tough one... I don´t think there is something like a fast cure for a breakup, it takes time, hon. Once I tried to forget one boyfriend by starting to date a new one instantly, and so on when that didn´t work out - bad mistake. It was like I was in denial, distracting myself from missing my bf.
You just have to go through a period of feeling low, hard as it seems. Otherwise it´ll never heal. At the same time, try to do the things you love, take care of yourself. Perhaps you feel like being alone, maybe it´s socializing you prefer. Just do what your instincts tell you.
Also, try not to give in to the "what ifs" - anytime you start to blame yourself for the breakup, put a stop to those thoughts. No need to torture yourself! This may sound silly (and it did to me when my mom told me this) but try to be your own best friend, taking care of yourself with positive thoughts and trying to have a good time - whenever possible.

Thank you so much for your advice girls. You are so great Smile

I was actually the one who broke up with him because he was lying to me and being a real a**hole.

I am finally in the acceptance stage and I really think it is important to grief for a while to really get to that stage. The question is just what are you going to do while griefing and I am glad I had no rebound flings like you said. I still really enjoyed putting on nice makeup and nice clothes and getting some attention while grieving. I think it helped =)

I got a date offer from a really nice guy and I decided to accept. I am ready to date again Wink
