Obviously, some of us here are transsexual/transgender. Big surprise eh?

Becoming female, in our bodies and overcoming our birth defects (born in a male body) is TOUGH..
We have many road blocks to overcome.
Growing boobies is just a small part of it. There is a LOT of work to do, and entire body needs a full overhaul,
voice, hair, mannerism, social skills, etc..

If you have interesting articles, links, info, etc. that would be helpful to those of us that are struggling with our handicap,
please post them in here.

Here's a few links to sites to help with your voice,

http://www.tarafoundation.org/voice.htm
http://www.tsroadmap.com/voice/transsexual-voice.html
http://jadephoenix.org/lvtgw/Info_htm/So...voice3.htm
http://www.heartcorps.com/journeys/voice.htm

If you're just into crossdressing you might like this site,
http://www.rachelpastel.com/mainpage.html
The site mainly caters to transvestite/cross dressers but there is still a lot of good info there for TS/TG girls.
There are a lot of health and beauty tips, etc. and they have an online ezine, the latest issue has an article
on hair removal and the different methods.

I'll post more links as I come across them.

I was chatting with a girl the other night, she hasn't started HRT yet.
I told her, "Oh wow! Are you in for some fun! Estrogen will rip your mind and your heart out, throw em into a rocket powered roller coaster and take em on a ride like you can't imagine in your wildest dreams."

This past few months has been a real roller coaster ride for *me*... It's been disturbing and comforting, all rolled into one.
It rips you apart and you experience multiple, conflicting feelings all at the same time. It's like nothing else on earth.

Check out this little article.

Hormones: When Reality Takes A Break

by: Wendi Pierce *

Recently I saw a cartoon in Tapestry that took a little while to sink in. The cartoon was a take-off on the drug addiction awareness ads running in many national publications. The original ad went something like this, "This is Crack, this is your brain on crack". This cartoon substituted "Premarin" for "Crack" and showed the brain image as flowers, rainbows, etc.. At first I thought it amusing and a novel parody but the more I thought about it, the more serious it became.

The mind and what it perceives govern our lives. We as members of the "gender community" have decided to explore our minds and likewise our inner desires. In many cases, we are now able to express that inner self publicly. We have allowed our "inner self" to come out into the light of day, to be expressed openly and we are, "on a grow", as a good friend of mine puts it.

However, we need to be clear headed and rational in our exploration of this inner self. We need to be able to evaluate ourselves clearly and choose the right path at each and every fork in the road, less we wake up some day realizing that where we are now is not the place that we started out heading toward. Worse yet we may have no way to go back.

Everyone knows the physical effects which hormones produce. However, a powerful influence which may not be apparent to some is the effect of hormones on our mind. Most people do not realize that these chemicals have a dramatic effect on our mind as well as our bodies. If you want proof, just ask any "natural" woman how her mood, attitudes, and ability to function varies at times due to her natural cycle. In the case of a person on large doses of hormones being used to cause a gender change combined with the natural hormones present of the person's original gender and one may end up with a mental state the equivalent of a bottle of nitroglycerin ready to blow at the slightest jarring.

For those who choose to experiment with hormones in a non-controlled environment, the situation is extremely dangerous. Supervision is the key here. Not just physical supervision which is usually provided by a family doctor or an endocrinologist but psychological supervision by a professional trained in "gender therapy". A professional who is keenly aware of the mind altering properties of these drugs and a professional trained to observe subtle attitude shifts. One needs this kind of care to prevent the worst from happening. It would be horrible to wake up one day and realize that during a long sleep we now have mutilated our body, have lost the support of our family, are broke, without a job and on the verge of suicide.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not negative on hormones. I feel that they can perform nothing short of a miracle to modify one's physical and mental being thereby correcting what I feel is a major birth effect, but the key is to use these chemicals in a controlled environment.

A good friend of mine related to me how he (she) was on a rocket ship for about six months. At the beginning of the period she began a program of hormone treatment wanting to become more feminine to "see how it felt". After about four months on a fairly high dosage program (5-7mg/day), she was seriously contemplating a trip to Colorado for reassignment surgery. Within a month after she stopped treatment, she was still positive about being able to express her internal "second self" but surgery was no longer an immediate goal. She may someday have surgery but has decided that for now, the immediate gains would not be worth the price which must be paid, i.e. the loss of her family and career.

For others hormones and the effect on their minds had meant the opposite. The effect seems to have been to allow these people to more clearly see how comfortable they are in their new chosen gender. After hormone treatment their path became clear and the internal conflict which had been a life-long strife was resolved.

Hormone therapy can both resolve and create problems and should be administered with this in mind. In most cases, I would advise that the person discontinue use for a period after the initial effects have begun to take hold. This break will allow for the "hormone high" to subside and give the person a time to reevaluate where they want to go. A period of a month or so won't hurt any long term progress that is desired and it will give the person's mind a chance to return to their pre-hormone thought patterns. Therapy during this period is very important, and an in depth consultation should precede the continuance of hormone therapy. Questions such as "what am I gaining and what am I giving up should be asked. If the answers are not conclusive, then continuance of hormone therapy should be postponed until some point of resolution of there questions is possible. If hormone therapy is reinstituted at this time, it may conceal the true inner self and the replies may only be those reflecting the person's "hormone high".

Successful "gender therapy" is the desired result and proper application of the methods and therapy (including hormone therapy) are the tools. These tools should be used under the close supervision of a trained gender therapist. If the methodology described here is followed, I feel that the person has a better chance of attaining a true peace and contentment with the true inner self.

Good article Moonstruck! I haven't had any serious emotional challenges other than the occasional splurt of bitchieness. I just think it's due to the girl juice and the exsisting male juice fighting for control. It's sort of funny,One minute I want to do something macho and the next I want to paint my toe nails.
I think the girl side is a little stronger than the male side. She seems to be winning!

Thank you Ginger!
It's rather nice to have the support and encouragement of other women.
*Most* of the world hates us. We are a fraction of a fraction of a minority yet for some reason we are the most reviled of all.
I don't know why, it's not like we are trying to take over the world and force men to watch women's TV shows or something nefarious like that.. ;-)
And even most women (natural born that is) hate us. We bear the brunt of a massive amount of abuse and discrimination, many people like us are murdered each year, just because someone can't co-exist on the same planet with us..

Sure, we're clunky and shy and are all socially polished up but in our hearts, we really are gentle and caring people too, just like most anyone else. Bottom line, at least I can say that in *my case*, I consider myself to have been born with a serious birth defect, that is, a male body.
What goes on in the head can't be fixed until the body is fixed. Once the mind sees the body as the mind expects it to appear, the mind can then be free to function normally and move on with life. For most of us, this is not a choice or an option, it's life or death..

Thanks!

Check out what this girl was able to achieve.
She didn't use natural methods, she went all out with synthetic man made hormones and it took her several years to get here but nonetheless, she looks great! She mentions that she was at one time taking lethal doses of man made hormones without knowing it and it made her "one sick kitty" until she figured out what was wrong. Still, she sure did transition well. I envy her..

NSFW!!! http://heartcorps.com/melanie/photo_albu...-arrrr.htm

Check her page on her FFS adventure. She was feeling down about her appearance and posted some nude pics of herself (post-op SRS) on some sort of "vote for me" type site and she got zillions of votes and was rated up in the top percentile.
She says that in the hundreds of emails not one person mentioned that they suspected she was TS.
And that was BEFORE her FFS surgery. She looks even better now. Lucky girl!
She's got a LOT of stuff on her site to read.

This is the part that gets me the most,

"Now the results of the operation have settled. My jaw, chin, nose, and forehead have become the way I had hoped. I no longer see this strange man looking back at me in the mirror.

Now I see myself, a woman. People on the street do, too, and they react that way: Nobody stares at me like they used to.

Elizabeth"

******* I no longer see this strange man looking back at me in the mirror. *******

OMG........ That is precisely, precisely and exactly where I am at right now. I can not stand to look in the mirror because what I see is not right. It depresses me deeply and I want to smash the damn mirror. I hate that person I see there, it's NOT me.
I am a walking, living birth defect.

Check this one out too,
http://www.genderlife.com/forum/

However, it's TS only. But it's loaded with excellent info.
I learned of several new things I had never heard of before last night.
One of them is called a "Thyrohyoid elevation surgery" where the relocate stuff in your neck but don't touch the vocal cords.
Very low risk with very good results. Here's a nice thread on it.

http://www.genderlife.com/forum/ubbthrea.../fpart/all

You'll find links to actual before and after voice samples. Everyone that's had it is very happy with it.

That's just peachy with me! $5,000 for a US surgery is less than I would have thought. May be cheaper in Thailand which is where a lot of girls go these days as the cost is a fraction of what US docs charge..

Oh and just for fun...

http://ladyjayne83.tripod.com/id196.htm

I took the BSRI (aka BEM) test and scored a -25 which is like not just feminine but beyond feminine.
I was shocked that I scored that much. Lately, just for entertainment purposes, and out of boredom,
I've been taking various gender identity tests. I don't need to take them, I know what I am but
I was curious as to what the tests thought of me. Despite being slightly tempted to cheat a little, I was totally honest
on them because it would be pointless to do so.
Some of the tests I took are legit, some where just fun tests for chuckles. But they all flagged me as female.
No surprise there at all. The real surprise was that they scored me as much more feminine than I thought I am.
Hmmm.. Oh well. Doesn't change anything. I am still what I am, one very f**ked up individuals.

I too took the BEM test.

Column totals:
1. 45 2. 48 3. 41 4. 42 5. 54 6. 37

Add column 1 to column 5. Masculine traits: 99
Add column 3 to column 6. Feminine traits: 78
Subtract Feminine traits from Masculine traits. Score: 21.

I'm a guy. Trapped in a sexy woman's body. :-)
It's funny, but I seldom get on well with women. All my best friends are male and I am often told that I think like a man. I look very feminine though! And I intend to continue doing so. I was a tomboy when I was a kid and always got mistaken for a boy but I kind of grew out of that later on.

Ok fennel, i did the test too:

Column1=55 Column2=45 Column3=44 Column4=44 Column5=53 Column6=48

55+53=108
44+48=92

Add column 1 to column 5. Masculine traits: 108
Add column 3 to column 6. Feminine traits: 92
Subtract Feminine traits from Masculine traits=16 Nearly Masculine

So im nearly a man but not quite there yet-lol

(Login Davi-lee) Something that may interest someone... August 7 2007, 3:39 PM

What made me think of sharing this was the several comments from some of ya about "changing bodies".
Now....this site caters to a particular facet of gender changing.
Its mainly for men who have the desire to be pregnant and have babies.
Now dont let that turn ya off yet...
Its definitely not for everyone..But...the best thing about it is the story section.
There are some great fiction about men changing bodies with women, men changing into females (like very quickly)and that kind of thing.
I just read a story called "The Favor"..I think that Miss Morticia would really enjoy this story.
The main story is:The husband who is a astronomer agrees to exchange bodies with his research scientist wife after she discovered a surprise pregnancy that she was afraid would jeopardize her work and was afraid that the stress may cause her to have a miscarraige.
(She discovered a side effect to her research,it can reprogram two brains, switching each persons mind with the other, leaving the bodies the same otherwise)
I was bawling at the end of it,it had such a twist ending...I got hooked on reading it and following how the husband was dealing with inhabiting his wifes body....dealing with the day to day womens problems(he's suddenly weaker and smaller and has to learn how to dress properly, and act like a female.etc.).....eventually,going through an entire pregnancy, because for various reasons they couldnt get switched back. This is actually very neat.
Theres a lot of great sex scenes too..heehee...them dealing with their new bodies together sexually allows for some very interesting writing.
(**he finds that he really, really enjoys the greater female sexual pleasure abilities)
Really,it is a pretty good story.
Oh...the site is *.pregnantmen.net*....then go to "stories"..goto "original stories"...."The Favor".Its a quite long story.

Oh yeah...about that story...one of the good things about the story is the guy discovers that he enjoys being a woman for many reasons once hes living in her body for awhile.
He is subject to all her hormone changes and emotional ups and downs.
Its just cute...
Sometimes you think that he doesnt want to change back to his male body,as the story goes along.
