Question about black cohosh ? - Lovelybreasts86 - 10-08-2015

Can't find much about black cohosh is it really needed and if so what does it help thanks ?

From what I've read black cohosh may increase your risk of liver disease, so it's bad in the long term.

It may also increase T levels in males instead of increasing E, which isn't going to help with NBE.

As mentioned , black cohosh can be hard on your liver, I wouldn't take it for long ( as with most NBE herbs )

Black cohosh-Appears to bind to estrogen receptors, mimics hormonal effects of estrogen, estriol.

According to who? Determined how?

Black cohosh has been used by women for ages without such mishaps to the liver. Sounds like junk science or disinformation.

When I researched black cohosh several years ago, the studies did show it relieved symptoms of menopause, but that it was not estrogenic. Many sites carry warnings about potential liver damage and what to look for like dark urine. Just google "black cohosh liver" and pick something.

So it's just rumor and hearsay. Nothing substantiated or reliable. Sounds like some yutz jumped to faulty conclusions after a feckless glance at some half-baked work of some other ninny. Next it's read by somebody not bothering to question the so-called authority of the yutz. Then passed around without any critical analysis and boom zip pow it's just become Gospel of TEH entermuhhnettz. DodgyRolleyes

Is that all there is?

If you want a rational conversation about Black Cohosh fine, let's do that. For instance, how black cohosh suppresses testosterone signaling production (in men) by way of LH-Lutenizing Hormone.
