I'm afraid to say that I had never heard of this term before today. I find the TERF agenda and the phenomenon itself to be disturbing. I'm utterly amazed that anyone could espouse such venal and pointless hostility towards those of us who are transgendered.

I would substitute Reactionary for Radical. They misappropriate the term feminism as a tool for promoting a regressive ideology.

Wow interesting site. I have read about Trans-Exclusionary Radical Feminist (TERF), but I've not read enough to understand the problem. I did not realise that they are such a long running and active group.

As a few have pointed out, it's fine to call yourself a feminist and demand equality but then how can you show so much hatred against another group of individuals. Not only does it make the terfs look like extremists, but it's also degrading those individual who actually fight for a woman's right to be treated as an equal.
