Those Sneaky Schopenhauerian Phytoestrogens!
Was doing some late night reading on estrogens and came across this wild theory on Wikipedia:
It has been hypothesized that plants use phytoestrogens as part of their natural defense against the overpopulation of herbivore animals by controlling female fertility.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phytoestrogens
Whoa! Sounds like the plants are substituting pseudo estrogens for the real deal intentionally!
Sounds a little like when Kellog created Corn Flakes to deflect us from high protein diets as a way keep our horniness in check so we wouldn't masturbate so much! They should really be called NoFap Corn Flakes!
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corn_flakes
German philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer saw the world as WILL, where even sexual drives are underlying forces (that often work against our own interests) getting us to copulate and procreate. The WILL of potential offspring is driving mom and dad to get it on whether they like it or not.
So are the plants trying to keep us in check through their phytoestrogens? And are these imposters (binding to receptors) the best approach vs cholesterol for fostering estrogen and testosterone?
These are the kinds of things I think about at 3:30 in the morning when I can't sleep! Lol (perhaps it's the WILL TO CURIOSITY)!
Perhaps even synthetic xenoestrogens are an (additional) evolutionary solution to cool the heels so to speak, putting the breaks on fertility. WILL, running amok among humans to unwittingly cap their own fertility.
