As I said, the law in the USA allows negative discrimination. On that ground, positive discrimination (quotas) make sense.

In a modern country with actual worker's rights and protection enforced, where firing or denying service on the basis of sexual orientation or gender would be forbidden, quotas are a negative thing. I hate quotas in the UK because discrimination is illegal, but in the USA the situation is currently unbalanced.

China and the US have not done it so far for fear of reprisals. Russia is trying to do it and will get its way because it will receive support from the US and China. I'm aware of the firing of transgender in the military, and I can't opine on that because I've never served our country, but I'm sure there has to be a reason for it. I don't watch Fox News or the government-funded propaganda of mainstream media, there are many other outlets for news that is unbiased. If I was running my own business, I'd want the most qualified employees, no matter what race, color, sex, or sexual orientation... I'm pretty confident saying that a majority of Americans want the same thing! All I'm trying to say is that people aren't being rounded up, jailed, slaughtered, etc... I'm not trying to anger anyone, but dividing everyone into small subgroups is what hurts this country, if we start being Americans, it'll come together, I promise you!

Just out of curiosity, what are these other unbiased news outlets that you are referring to?

Goddammit the reason is jesus nazi fascist cult running everything! They want trans people removed from public discourse, scrubbing of information, erosion of all rights, that's what it is! These poeple are starting the enemy list just like nazis of the old days did, from the easiest place. We are canary in the coal mine! It wont end with that either, next its gays, all cis rainbow people, then its women, black people, anyone who's not white. The racism is so blatant too!

That's what they're up to. They're setting up people for extermination if allowed to. 

At the same time nazi Musk is trying to meddle with European elections to boost far right extremist parties here, latest is what he's doing with twatter in Germany of all places. These people will not stop unless they're stopped. They will do absolutely unhinged crazy shit unless someone rises up to challenge it. Its always like this with wannabe dictators. They don't "come to their senses", they're not "just rhetoric", "he would never do that", "that's just talk". No, take them seriously when they say what they want and when they show who they are.

Its been only over a month and its a total shitshow. There's years of this insane crap coming. It wont stop here either. Things will get worse.

@ChuckM, there are many other sources of news and information besides what has been funded propaganda from USAID, either online or streaming channels... As a person who can think for themselves, I want to ask a question... Isn't DEI a form of racism??? Telling someone that they can't have the job because they don't check one of the non-confirming boxes??? And I'm sure I'll get bashed for this, but isn't non -binary how you FEEL? I'm in total agreement that most of us FEEL like we're in the wrong body, but we do what we can until we FEEL like ourselves... Right? A little kid in school says that he identifies as a cat, in America, they put a litter box in the corner for him instead of telling him to stop it... Another little boy says he wants to be a girl, so the school makes appointments for hormone therapy without telling his parents...a little girl says she wants to be a cop when she grows up, does the school send her off to the police academy at 7 years old?? The problem here is everyone is freaking out about how they FEEL, not about facts... There isn't going to be mass killings or eradications for how someone feels, their sex, sexuality, or skin color, if you believe that, you belong in a jacket with sleeves that tie in the back... Nobody is losing their rights, common sense based on facts is coming back instead of separating people based on FEELINGS....I agree with most of you here, I FEEL like I was born in the wrong body, and society hasn't caught up to that yet, but I don't feel like I'm in any danger, that is absurd! I love you all, even though we have different opinions, that's the difference between me and you...

I'm inclined to believe kellyO here. the camps don't start from complete institutional support to immediate hellfire purging of the infidels. There are midpoints, specifically active street gangs searching for the minority class, brutalizing them, and then getting a slap on the wrist from the courts. This isn't happening to trans people yet, and infact it's been happening in the opposite political direction with antifa members beating up and killing suspected conservatives. I especially remember the video clip from 2020 of a leftist guy in oregon or washington, USA, yelling
"HEY WE GOT A TRUMPER HERE" 
*POW! POW! POW!*
and then a centrist guy is dead. he wasn't even rightwing he just wasn't leftist and was suspected of supporting trump.

point being, there are midpoints. we haven't crossed those midpoints. its not in the ruling administrations charter to dehumanise the people you mention. maybe believe their manifestos. Mr. H-man Uniball was very outspoken about who deserved death. listen to who your enemy is focusing on to find out what they will do.

 We may no longer be recognized as the gender we want on legal forms, which is terrible, and absolute worst case is that HRT is no longer on the table for health insurance coverage. I don't think they are going to go further than that. maybe the next guy that comes along will have an axe to grind. but they haven't listed any arbitrary demographic as less than human yet.

As american LGBT, It is your primary objective right now to keep a level head. do not speculate, criticize only on the effects policies have already had. point out what might happen, but don't act like its absolutely going to go as bad as you think. because if it doesn't, you will look unhinged, and that's fodder against your demographic. Your best tool against potential systemic targeting against you is to connect with people outside your demographic and prove that your are a normal well adjusted human being. That is how societal change is made: not in the street riots, but in social calls and in the hearts of friends and neighbours.
