Would raw/ground fenugreek work?

#1

Most fenugreek products here are so bad, they are lower on dosage and they don't even mention the % of saponins or anything. Not to mention being overpriced. I wonder if i regular fenugreek either in seed or ground form could work the same. And how much grams to do the trick.

Raw Fenugeek powder should be quite OK. However, the saponins contents vary. I have seen claims that it can be around 5-10%.

Because fenugreek isn't poisonous, taking it should be quite risk free. I have myself taken ground fenugreek a topped tablespoon a day for long period (about 3g) and ave not had any recognizable side effect except maybe some change in body odor.

With 3g fenugrek you might get then 150-300 mg saponins.

I chew the seeds after meals as it is good digestive aid.  Very commonly eaten with meals in the India culture.  I also add it to my  'breast growth tea'  (currently - White Peony, Green Tea, Saw Palmetto, and fennel ).   I doubt it would do much on it's own, but it is considered high in Phytoestrogens .
