Julie,
My advice would be to find a balance between the extremes of self-denial and living in the pink fog. A good analogy I think would be finding a middle ground between abstaining from eating your favorite food ever again and your favorite food being 100% of your diet for the rest of your life. Not all crossdressers are alike in their interest to dress. Once you find that balance, enjoy it to the fullest!
Trying to suppress your desire to dress is only going to backfire in the long term. If wearing a silky cami under your shirt everyday makes you happy and relaxed, why not enjoy yourself and avoid overthinking matters too much?
For me, pm does suppress the desire to dress, but the desire still manifests itself at times.
