Can anyone tell me the difference between Progynova and Estrofem?  Are they identical, functionally equivalent, or what?

Progynova which is estradiol valerate, 2 mg is actually only 1.5 mg estradiol. Because the valerate molecule is heavy. With estrofem which is estradiol hemihydrate the deviation is only 3%.
