hi ian, welcome back <3
i'm on reishi + gte/egcg, ovarian/pituitary/women's multiglandulars, and EEn injections. the injections are a new addition, only just started my third week, glandulars i've been on ~2 months, and reishi ~4 months. no problems whatsoever so far, although i'm not on any medications so it's an easier thing for me to navigate. i feel like most of this stuff is generally pretty harmless, but when other medications are in the picture, things might be wildly different.
were you on reishi extract from fruiting bodies of the mushroom, or on whole mushroom ground to powder? i've read a few cases of even deaths related to people taking too high doses of the whole mushroom, i think in china where the mushroom is more commonly used as a part of their medicinal tradition. no idea what was the cause, but from the few sources, it seems that extracts would be the safer option, however it seems pretty anecdotal. although it's wiser to not use it at all if it clashes with your other medication. whole mushrooms might be more likely to cause liver issues with prolonged use, but even extracts aren't adviced to be used indefinitely. also green tea extract, and egcg more specifically, is known to be toxic to the liver. i use a 400mg gte with 200mg of egcg which is the current safety margin in the EU, i take one daily. my daily reishi dose is 1000mg of dual extract with 300mg beta-glucans and 40mg triterpenes, 5mg ganoderic acids. as for glandulars, i take 2x250mg ovarian, 1x80mg pituitary, and 2x women's multiglandular every morning and another similar dose in the evening, all of those are swanson's products. it's recommended to start from a low dose like 1 of everything daily, and ramp up after some weeks. anecdotal evidence seems to suggest there's a benefit of a larger dose of maybe 1500mg ovarian daily, but everyone's mileage will vary a lot, and for me, i feel the effects with my current dose and my thinking currently is that i'm not sure how a larger dose would benefit, and it definitely uses up the bottles faster. be sensitive and listen to your body.
after my initial period of getting to know the stuff i'm putting into my body, i'm planning to do the glandulars, reishi and gte in cycles of 3 months on, 4th month off. the idea behind the off month is to detox and let the liver (and body overall) rest and heal from all the stuff it has to process. i've also read anecdotes about glandulars benefiting from cycling, causing the body to react more intensely to it after a pause. however there are also anecdotes about them working better when used constantly, so everyone's mileage varies. glandulars overall are a wild card, everyone reacts to them differently, for some they seem to do nothing, and for others (like me), it feels immediately much more potent than any phytoestrogen, PM included. however that's based on my internal feelings, and i haven't found any credible science on effects of glandulars on humans when it comes to feminisation. my current thinking is that while HRT estrogen is the main driving force, the glandulars have a varied effect on many other parts of the body, and will assist in stuff like feminising your hips and maybe upregulating your HGH/LH/FSH? and a myriad of other things that nobody seems to know for sure. but they give me the same internal feeling i get from estrogen, and they certainly do work on my body, so i'm pretty much continuing using them unless i get adverse effects, which i haven't at least yet.
a word of caution about permanent anti acids, those will cause the food to not ingest properly and it starts to wear down the lining of the stomach etc. glad that you're looking into what you eat, as diet is a huge thing to make or break that situation. if you manage to find foods that you can digest without problems, you might be able to cut back on the antacids and heal your stomach, however everyone is different and no one thing works for everyone. also recommended to severely limit your salt intake (in case you don't limit it already), the body needs very little sodium to work properly and sodium excess is one of the things that cause chronic inflammation and prevents the body from healing.
