You can do it yourself (by using the edit button in the usual way) if it's still within 24 hours of when you first posted it.

I started the thread in January, asking for suggestions and input, and over the last couple of months it changed into a progress thread; I'd like the title to reflect the new nature of the thread.

In that case you should use the report button (in that thread) to ask for the thread title to be changed.
