If I were you and getting off the herbals and going to something stronger such as estradiol I would recommend spironolactone ( ALDACTONE ) for an anti-androgen. Most MTF patients benefit with around 100-200 mg per day. As always begin around 50 mg per day and ramp up if necessary. There are some known complications for spironolactone so I would advise for you to google them and read for yourself. My endocrinologist has started me out on 25 mg in the am and 25 mg in the pm. You should watch eating too many foods that contain potassium as well on this drug. And, I would suggest for you to keep well hydrated while on spironolactone as it is a diuretic.
