Dianna1395, my comments were not directed at you. I would have made it clear if I was talking about you.
My comments were more general and about more than just the posts on this forum, or even this entire site. Some folks appear to be upset that a suggestion might be made to check out an established active website other than this one for specific topics that are not part of the premise of this site. Yes, I am referring to the reaction to the suggestion to check out a different resource for skirts and men. The response to that suggestion was nasty and missed completely the point that this is not the only site on the internet, nor even the best place for every discussion topic that can be imagined and written down. I think using other websites is actually a Good Thing, especially if they are active, established, and topically relevant. I appreciate pointers to ones people have found valuable. I had never seen the skirt cafe site before, and the brief perusal I did after that link was posted makes me think it might be a good resource for anyone actually interested in that topic. It is in the context of many websites, informational, social, and entertainment-oriented, that I make my observations about the viewpoints and depictions of us as a group which I think are counter-productive. I don't like seeing our forums go in that direction. Of course, if I am in the minority and the members want to go down the road of promoting the binary and status quo with only minor changes to suit their own personal needs, I will hitch up my wagon and find another pasture with no wasted regrets.
I am sorry to hear you in such pain Dianna1395, and I hope you find your way out of what is clearly a severely damaged, and damaging, relationship.
Your comments about migrating to the poles demonstrates my point that this poll itself suggests to people that our community is not only fine with there being poles, but we include them as part of our basic thinking. My point is that this is not a Good Thing. We should be striving in an open-minded way to move past that, IMHO.
