I had a spinal cord injury. When I came into St Joseph Hospital my survival score was 1 (1 low 300 high). I had a bladder scan of over 2 liters. I had emergency surgery on my lowest 5 spinal vertebrae. I had to use a In Out Catheter for about a year. I used a 17 french plastic catheter. 17 inch is nearly the longest urethra. It was rough. BTW I did pass kidney stones. By the time I went for medical help I already passed them. Be aware of infection when you have stones, catheter, or a hospital stay.
