I don't like shorts lol, probably because I don't like my thighs. The day I found leggings was the happiest day of my life (probably exaggerating here). They keep my legs cool in the summer without me having to show my thighs (they also make my legs look a better shape,I have thighs like tree trunks lol)

Haha. I do have a pair of yoga pants that still fit. If I can't get anything else before the weather warms up I'll just wear them. My main concern was that the majority of the clothes I have that still fit are skirts and dresses, not good for riding a bike if I don't want to give everyone a free show. I said I have a pair of yoga pants that still fit? I meant just that. I have A pair of yoga pants that still fit.

Ah I see. Normally when I hear low impact I think of joint impact. I have awful ankles and have to wear supports during exercise so I normally stick to low impact (skeletal) which is why I love the elliptical.

It's my bad. I should have specified to begin with. But yeah, I was talking about low impact endurance cardio as the pretty much opposite of high impact interval training. HIIT is meant to tone, endurance cardio is meant to shed pounds. Any kind of pounds. All kinds of pounds. You actually do HIIT on an elliptical most of the time, though it is possible to do endurance cardio on one. The purpose of the elliptical is to reduce skeletal impact for people with bad joints or other skeletal problems. Two different kinds of impact, very different. High muscle impact puts stress on muscles, helps build and maintain muscle while losing fat, high skeletal impact damages skeletal tissues and is really a pretty good idea to minimize for anybody, but when the damage is already severe it becomes even more important to try to reach NO skeletal impact if possible, which is where machines like the elliptical come in to replace machines like bikes and treadmills whose impact on skeletal tissues, while not damaging to healthy tissues, can cause stress to people who already have skeletal problems.
