Hiya Flame
Funny enough, I have been thinking of you lately :-) I know you have been using spearmint to good effect for some time, and from your experience have just started myself on it again.
Quick question, what form do you find best? I am using it raw and brewing a tea as that seems to be the kindest way to take it, and it makes a nice cuppa too.
Most definitely can confirm that NBE brought on lethargy. Though for me it also stoked up my CFS which clouded the issue a bit. When you are dealing with fatigue on a daily basis it can be hard to identify when symptoms are changing, but doggedly ploughing on through hoping it wasn't true made the situation clear. Much to my disappointment and frustration.
For me the culprits were Coconut Oil and PM. Lethargy, depression and weight gain were my symptoms.
Still trying to work through alternatives so can't be too conclusive at the moment, but the principle of taking breaks seems to be a big help. A week off in four has been helping but I am wondering if that gives too much of a peak and trough affect? So I am going to try a five days on two days off routine and see how that works.
And I agree with J, once I realise I have got it wrong it can take a while to get back on track again. Think a pre-emptive approach to breaks is the way to go.
My gut feeling is the problem comes from pushing down the T for too long. And/or upsetting the hormone balances in the brain. Reason why I mention the brain is I have noticed a pattern of a distinct flavour of depression that seems to come with it which I am sure (I my case at least) is to do with when the brain chemistry is out of whack.
Oh, and PC seems to help too.
