My endo agreed to switch me to the injection! Unfortunately we don't know if my insurance will cover it. I'll find out within the next day or two though, so wish me luck!
And yes, sadly it is a take home DIY thing, but the doc told me I will be shown how one week, then have to demonstrate it myself the next time.

The Stick isn't difficult. you have more sensation in a finger prick, you get pulled into sticking the needle in straight (so it doesn't hurt) and sort fo throw it like a dart, and then you realize "that was supposed to hurt."
But it didn't, really - there are no nerves in the muscles for pain, essentially. (Free nerve endings convey pain, usually in the dermis --> Odds are you can't hit it if you try, unless you're an absolute pussy. To be blunt...)
