I've tried generic versions of both and for me they worked as advertised. I decided not to take either again after very weird side effects from viagra: mild headache as others reported, but I could also feel something in the back of my eyes which is what really gave me pause. It was a hard to describe sensation that wasn't painful, but just didn't feel right and combined with reports of vision problems as a side effect, it scared me too much to continue. 

I've found several herbs (of course, right?!) to work just as well or better, and you can even combine them for added effect with minimal (or for me) no side effects. Consider getting Tongkat ali (Eurycoma longifolia from Thailand of course) and take it PRN (as needed). I've also found liquid extract of horny goat weed (it got that name for a reason!) effective, as well as damiana in capsules taken in advance of sessions with my last GF. I'm between partners at the moment so not taking any of the above on a regular basis but have done so in the past. I was taking tongkat ali daily for a while and found the horny goat weed and the damiana gave the desired extra interest in initiating the act and nice hardness during it. 

Now that I know these herbs work as advertised, I don't think I would ever go back to viagra or cialis.
