Painful erections is a new one. I've never heard of it. Many people report testicular pain and shrinkage but not in the penis itself. Unless you masturbated for too long to achieve erections like when you weren't taking PM. In that case it's a purely mechanical thing.
Is that the new normal? No.
Erections can be back in full force when you stop PM (and other substances). What seems to be final is the shrinkage of the testicles but that doesn't seem to affect their ability to produce sperm. Stop PM for a month and your equipment will be as good as new.
