Somewhere that is totally different than any place in Europe is the Western US. I did many of the suggestions below in about 10 days and about 1,000 miles.

Fly into Las Vegas (a treat in itself) and drive North to the Four Corners Region:
Arches National Park.
Aztec Ruins National Monument.
Bryce Canyon National Park.
Canyon de Chelly National Monument.
Canyonlands National Park.
Capitol Reef National Park.
Cedar Breaks National Monument.
Chaco Culture National Historical Park.

You don't need to gamble to enjoy Las Vegas.  There are (were, before the pandemic) many shows at reasonable prices to enjoy.
