I took a relatively low dose of PM (500mg daily three to four times a week) and ended up with a DVT after several months. Took blood thinners and also took a break from PM. After a few months, I decided to start dosing via suppositories, which I made myself (easy, with coconut oil and a lower amount of PM). It was a bit of a pain but was likely safer. I even ordered up my own blood test after a couple of months to see if my d-dimer levels were indicative of a clotting problem...levels were fine.
***The above was not a suggestion. Don't risk your health based on what I've written!***
Anyway, I started estradiol patches at the beginning of 2022. Less stress over a DVT risk, easier, cheap, and way more effective. I've had to switch to 1/4 of my original dose because changes are happening too quickly. I suggest you go with patches if you're older, have a family history of issues, etc. etc.
