I think the whole caffeine thing is a crock. Various factions in the nutrition/food fields have been trying to vilify caffeine for decades. I read a metastudy a short time ago, that tried to find concrete support for drastically limiting or completely eliminating caffeine from one's diet and failed to find ANY conclusive evidence (they looked for either improved health from stopping or a detriment to consuming caffeine) to support that position.
I am a coffee drinker. I have not cut back one bit, and have had significant growth to the point I need to seriously consider stopping PM if I want to continue to be able to hide the girls under normal male clothing. I already pretty much need a sports bra all the time now to avoid them being noticed.
As with anything, your mileage will vary, but I don't think you can blame caffeine or even moderate alcohol consumption for lack of growth. I think it is more likely genetics combined with dosage that is the culprit.
