I've use a IPL and started this last month using a braun epilator. I did shave about 4 days before using the epilator. I must admit it was painful. And yes the chest is smoother for longer. What i've been doing is using the IPL a couple of days after using the epilator and must admit very little hair growth. And the 2nd time i used the epilator the pain was no where near as bad as the first time i used it. So if you do use an epilator expect pain the first time you use it but easier the more its used.

Wish i had used the eplilator sooner.

I tried out a Braun Epilator after shaving my chest and waiting several days.  The pain was nowhere near as bad as I was expecting but wow, I ended up with a whole lot of red spots all over my chest.  It looked like a somewhat sparse rash.  It's been a few days since I used it and the red spots are fading.  I'm hoping that future uses will result in fewer red marks.  I definitely like the smooth feel I have right now.

I didn't have a lot of chest hair to begin with but several days after shaving there was definitely stubble.
