To All members,
I must say that I am nearly 69 and not totally brilliant where the internet is concerned and posting where rules are concerned I am but a casual user.
I have just had a friend call in to see me (Derek) who is involved with the interenet (wont bore you) I told him about the issues with this post.
He was amused but said I am wrong, he informed me that there is a internet etiquette, especially about posting and where data protection is concerned, even he gets it wrong and went into detail of what I can and cannot do.
He went on to say that any photograph posted on the internet especially in the public domain is free for everyone to see and send to others as they see fit, but where I went wrong this forum is a members restricted area, photos are for members only and should not be posted outside the forum, however members may save them for their own use unless strictly forbidden. Other members have said I should have sought permission, even though my intentions were honourable and meant in good faith.
Even though it was sent to my daughter to assist with a potential medical condition it was wrong, he went on to say the only saving element of this was there is no face to the photo and no name attached to it so that person could not be identified, there is no actual issue where the photo could have caused issues in the public domain not that it entered the public domain.
So may I apologise to those members who have taken offence at my actions even though my actions were meant with good intentions, as Derek said I must stop and think before I post anthing on the internet and ask will this cause offence, obviously it has so I offer my humble apologies to those who have been offended and I assure you it may have been ill advised but no malace was meant.
If Shannon should read this, I meant you and other members no harm it was done to help protect you from harm.
Lesson learnt
Thank you
Liz
