F64.0 is not a mental health diagnosis because sex/gender dysphoria is not a mental illness. I'm no though police by pointing that out, I'm not even insulted or surprised either, but I take no shit and calling this diagnosis a mental illness is bullshit. Ironically enough, it should be dealt with as a medical issue, not a social one, but it definitely is not an illness. Symptoms of leaving these conditions untreated manifest as mental health problems though.

You shouldn't worry, these diagnosis are not handed out like candy to cis guys taking herbs to grow boobs, for that I bet there could be some completely different diagnostics if someone wanted to come up with one. This whole worry stems from the idea that trans women or anyone who gets transsex/gender diagnosis is a mentally ill freak who wont get hired or helped by authorities seeing us as mentally ill, unstable, non human. Discrimination happens a lot, because people are assholes and society is totally full of shit about these things even to this day. Especially older people are. As long as our condition is thought as mental illness, this shit keeps happening.

Next step is probably to call me a rabid blue haired woke tranny or something like that... But this mental illness thing should not be given a tiniest bit of space, it is not ok. Its not that long ago that everything from homosexuality to transsex conditions were all labelled as mental illness. Its taken decades of fight to have us become somewhat normal people and not mentally ill because of just existing with a normal part of human condition which is just somewhat rare. There's no room for that kinda stuff here on BN and nowhere else either. This is very much a hill I'm ready to die upon.
