If you decide to go back on Propecia as an anti-androgen, it can be costly but there are ways to get it inexpensively. Propecia is sold for baldness and is the brand name for finasteride. Proscar is sold for prostate enlargement and also is the brand name for finasteride. Propecia is 1mg finasteride, Proscar is 5mg finasteride. I think Propecia currently costs maybe $75 per month. You can get generic finasteride (5mg) at Walmart for $28 for 3 month supply which is cheaper than by using my insurance. You do need a prescription from your doc, but that shouldn't be all that difficult to get.
I started using Propecia in 1998 or 1999. Paid through the nose for it. Recently I asked my new doc for my annual prescription and he suggested the generic finasteride 5mg. Maybe I lucked out on the doc. But I've been saving about $60 per month for the past 3 years and I still have my hair or most of it.
As a side note, you can also get Spironolactone at Walmart for $10 for a 3 month supply of 25mg pills. In addition to its other uses, it is often used as an anti-androgen when a male is transitioning to female so it's pretty potent stuff, although I am not sure what the dosage is for that application.
