Until my food allergy was identified, I used to get severe rashes on my hands. I tried Hydorcortosone ointment, both over-the-counter and super strength prescription with no results. My dermatologist could not come up with anything that helped (he thought it was an allergic reaction to something I touched such as chemicals in shampoos.)

Then someone suggested an OTC ointment called Aquaphor. It feels like vaseline but must have something special in it because it worked wonders. After it saved me, I finally managed to identify the foods, which when eaten to excess, caused me problems.

I cannot speak too highly about Aquaphor. Last time I bought it I think it was about $5 per tube which is the size of a large toothpaste tube but half as long.
