There are plenty of other things that can increase prolactin. Metformin, which comes from Goat's rue, can raise prolactin so I assume Goat's rue will, too, but I have read in the past that Goat's rue can harm the liver so watch out for dark urine which can be a sign of liver damage.
Certain antidepressants will also raise prolactin levels. In fact, this may be why some of these drugs cause the negative sexual side effects they do. Lexapro and Effexor both affected me negatively in that department. Although I took them for a combined period of less than 2 years, here I am 6 years later, and nothing has changed. My new doctor just tested my prolactin, LH, FSH, and a bunch of other things. I'll know more when I see him in mid-March.
