My Gender Doctor

I know that feeing.....

I know that it sounds like pouting, whining and whatever else some might think.  But up to this point, things have been like a domino effect in pretty good succession.  And to hit a bump like this, after all of the previous steps from getting into many discussions, arguments with wife, coming out to my personal doctor, finding a gender therapist has set me up for this path.

I would naturally feel like having come this far, just for this is really intolerable.  This is a journey that the above has taken place since late May.  And with all of the wasted time over the last 12 yrs especially, I just want to make up time.  No one knows how long we have, in this world.  I just want some peace and tranquility.

Maybe, up to this point, I have been spoiled?  I know many others have had a rougher time in coming this far.  Sorry for the rants everyone.  Especially since you all have been so nice and understanding.

I know it does not offer much help, but I had to wait over two years after talking to my own doctor before I even got close to a Gender Dr. I often wonder if the pace is slow on the hopes that some will get a wtf am I doing moment, and not bother ??
And yet the new couple in our transition support group, she came out to her wife, saw a Gender Dr within 3 weeks, and was given  hormons straight away. So who the duck knows why sometimes it takes to long.

This afternoon, I received a call from my GD's office telling me that the doctor did get info back o.k. from both my therapist and MD.  He wants me in his office December 14th.   YAAH HOOO!

The pain of it is that it took 6 weeks, just for the initial consult.  Then another 4 weeks for 3 professionals to work things  out and agree.  Now, it's another 4 weeks before signing Informed Consent and meds.  Three months dam near.  And that's after it took me a month just to find someone more local rather than to drive 300+ miles both ways to a Gender Clinic.

Just think how things might of progressed if it were a little more streamlined.  But, some gurls on this board had longer waits.  So, maybe I just want instant success??

Well, 4 years on Herbs, all the money and upset stomach for little gain.  To get a more feminine body....  Doctor's either believe that due to lack of controls, most herbs can cause unforeseen problems, and hence all they know is HRT.  (which they maybe right!)  My insurance will help with HRT and Therapist, but no help on Herbs or self medication...

I can go on, but not really sure why you asked the question to begin with?
