Hi Hannah,

I think this cold/hot therapy has real potential, the impact is immediate. Here's some past research.

Quote:Another example: From a clinical study I found that it stated that cAMP (2nd messengers) levels significantly increased lipolysis in adipose tissue, at 4°C, (39 degrees). Adipocytes increased the release of glycerol, indicating that the high rate of lipolysis occurred in these cells

In other words, my guess means it's the release of aromatase, or leptin. Simply put, the building of boobs. Wink

So I was looking into some research on cold water therapy and how it aids in recovery times in post HIIT workouts. Turns out that it also builds new brown fat cells, hmm, interesting huh?. Well.....it got me thinking on different ways to promote new cell growth for breast tissue. As we know fat cells produce aromatase enzyme, which converts testosterone into estrogen. We also know HIIT produces natural growth hormone and lactate, (initiates new muscle synthesis). It's quite possible (imo) using that cold water therapy and HIIT can trigger breast growth, the science says it's possible. Wink

So how do this apply to NBE?, my opinion?..........hmm.......Rolleyes use ice packs on the boobs after massage/boobie exercises (you still do those grab n pull method boob exercises right?) I hope so cause that in-itself triggers breast growth. This method along with HIIT, cold water therapy is free, cept the cost of water. Rolleyes

Initiation of myoblast/brown fat switch through a PRDM16-C/ EBP-β transcriptional complex:

These data indicate that the PRDM16-C/EBP-β complex initiates brown fat development from myoblastic precursors, and may provide opportunities for the development of novel therapeutics for obesity and type-2 diabetes.

EFFECT OF IMMEDIATE AND DELAYED COLD WATER IMMERSION AFTER A HIGH INTENSITY EXERCISE SESSION ON SUBSEQUENT RUN PERFORMANCE
http://www.jssm.org/vol10/n4/10/v10n4-10text.php

In summary, quantitative and qualitative analyses demonstrated that immediate CWI performed after a HIIS resulted in better next day running performance (YRT), while delayed (3 h) CWI was also likely to result in improved YRT performance, compared to no CWI. Importantly, greater benefit was associated with immediate CWI. This information is pertinent to athletes, particularly if they do not have immediate access to recovery facilities following exercise performance.

Cold Temperatures and Chili Peppers Help Burn Fat
http://www.livescience.com/40493-brown-f...ppers.html

What do low temperatures and chili peppers have in common? They both could help burn fat, a new study shows.

Exposure to cold and consumption of chemicals found in chili peppers both appear to increase the number and activity of so-called brown fat cells, which burn energy, rather than store it as typical "white" fat cells do, said Takeshi Yoneshiro, a researcher at Hokkaido University Graduate School of Medicine in Japan.

In the new study, researchers exposed eight people with little or no brown fat cells to moderately low temperatures of 63 degrees Fahrenheit (17 degrees Celsius) for two hours daily, over the course of six weeks. Compared with the control subjects, who went about their normal lives, the cold-exposed people had about 5 percent less body fat at the end of the study, and also burned more energy when exposed to cold, according to the study, which was published in August in the Journal of Clinical Investigation.

I love these posts, thank you so much for this info lotus! I think I will get back on L-arginine. Everything you listed here was in my NBE program and it's no wonder it worked out for me! I also read something on riboflavin and B vitamins, promoting protiens and stuff, that is nbe friendly right? bc when I was taking my B complex it aided in my NBE too I noticed TongueTongue

lotus I also have one more Q I am sorry but I read on BN once that taking sole amino acids are dangerous, that is a reason why I haven't picked up my larginine, what are your thoughts on that? Thank you, love Big Grin

Ur welcome missB, I like having new options too. That's something alright (re: riboflavin), B-complex favors breast growth. Not surprising is how vitamin C & D keep showing up in support of healthy beasts (or overall breast health). Some new(er) information points out that zinc can completely inhibit DHT, though dose dependant, my calculation from one study puts this at 160 mg (est.). Now, one thing that happen is that when DHT is being inhibited it gives rise for T, and my theory is that's gonna be free T (the active form of T), the exciting part is the potential boost of free Estradiol if a pro-aromatase is introduced, timing with the supplementation of an Pro-Aromatase being critical......15-20 after zinc dosage imo.

Inhibition of 5 alpha-reductase activity in human skin by zinc and azelaic acid.

Abstract
The effects of zinc sulphate and azelaic acid on 5 alpha-reductase activity in human skin were studied using an in vitro assay with 1,2[3H]-testosterone as substrate. When added at concentrations of 3 or 9 mmol/l, zinc was a potent inhibitor of 5 alpha-reductase activity. At high concentrations, zinc could completely inhibit the enzyme activity. Azelaic acid was also a potent inhibitor of 5 alpha-reductase; inhibition was detectable at concentrations as low as 0.2 mmol/l and was complete at 3 mmol/l. An additive effect of the two inhibitors was observed. Vitamin B6 potentiated the inhibitory effect of zinc, but not of azelaic acid, suggesting that two different mechanisms are involved. When the three substances were added together at very low concentrations which had been shown to be ineffective alone, 90% inhibition of 5 alpha-reductase activity was obtained. If this inhibition is confirmed in vivo, zinc sulphate combined with azelaic acid could be an effective agent in the treatment of androgen related pathology of human skin.

" Progesterone stimulates deposition of body fat but had catabolic effects on protein metabolism. .......perfect. This tells (suggests) me an additional opportunity of progesterone in breasts. Progesterone stimulates fat deposition in breasts, but is catabolic of protein. Two things come to mind, increasing protien intake prior to progesterone application, and the other is having muscle depletion (isometrics) of breast tissue followed by cold therapy.

It's messy, but progesterone noogling created this fat stimulation while pumping, though I'd still do isometrics at the same time. When we look at the overall synthesis of this breast therapy it's accomplishing mutiple targets. At night (bedtime) i'd add melatonin add a few slices of pineapple for growth hormone release. Added vitamins C, D, B-complex, zinc, nuts, avacados, astaxanthin, limit sugars, get complex carbs, and protein is setting up oneself for boob success.

Big Grin good luck. L

Metabolic effects of progesterone.
Kalkhoff RK. Am J Obstet Gynecol. 1982.

Abstract
Progesterone has important effects on carbohydrate, lipid and protein metabolism. This steroid induces hyperinsulinemia, possibly by direct action on pancreatic islets, while promoting glycogen storage in the liver. Paradoxically, it antagonizes the effects of insulin on glucose metabolism in adipose tissue and skeletal muscle. Progesterone stimulates deposition of body fat but had catabolic effects on protein metabolism. Provisional evidence is offered that the steroid may influence ketone body production by the liver as well. When these steroid actions are considered together, their most relevant expression appears to be the physiologic changes observed during normal pregnancy.

PIP:

Parenteral progesterone injections into different mammalian species induce hyperinsulinemia, pancreatic islet hypertrophy, and exaggerated insulin secretion in vitro in response to glucose. The primary effect of progesterone by itself on carbohydrate metabolism appears to be the diversion of glucose utilization away from muscle and fat to other tissues, and the promotion of more storage of glycogen in the liver. On lipid metabolism, the 1 effect of progesterone is to favor storage of depot fat in adipose and breast tissue and to partially reduce the hypertriglyceridemic action of estrogens. On protein metabolism, it has been suggested that progesterone may have a catabolic action in man, and that the basic effects may be a lowering of several plasma amino acids and an increased total urinary nitrogen excretion without an associated aminoaciduria. On ketone body metabolism, progesterone partially suppresses the estrogen effect on liver triglyceride formation while promoting ketogenesis. The metabolic effects of progesterone are most relevant to pregnancy. The hormonal milieu of early to midgestation favors the stimulation of hyperphagia, pancreatic islet hypertrophy, hyperinsulinemia, and body fat and glycogen deposition. This period promotes maternal tissue accretion and weight gain. During the later half of pregnancy, progesterone acts simultaneously with prolactin and other hormones to prepare the breasts for lactation by promoting hyperinsulinemia and fuel storage and by helping to condition the liver in elaborating ketones more promptly to meet the demands of advancing pregnancy.

Sure, no problem. Yes, they can be dangerous if used incorrectly, study up though, in short duration some can be beneficial. Ultimately we'd get enough amino's in our diet......but we don't. Viral infections, thinning of arteries, increased blood pressure, stroke, etc. make supplementing with amino acids a real risk. I can't find any studies on it, but i believe BO has unkown amino acids which led to a severe viral infection in my trial, so be careful out there.

There seems to be a high percentage of NBE, that could be risky stuff,,given the obvious differences in our makeup, (the gamble in each new thing we try)and its cumulative effects calls for some real discernment,, analysis and foolhardy courage on the part of the seeker.

Out of the most basic list of herbs ive found 4 that could be fatal to me ,luckily the short list ive used from the beginning have been beneficial.

BO sounds like a cornacopia of questions,,and long term possibilities,,. Even as well read as you are brother on this subject,,the information generated has been in case studies none of us were involved in,,So it and other substances we use in NBE have to unfortunately ,,initially remain ambiguous.

Despite their best efforts to inform,,, that individual basis is still the wild card in NBE. Its frightening that we can have an Einstein like formula two pages long in front of us, explaining the progression, and unification of complimentary facets of an NBE program and still really not know its safe for each and every one of us.

The science is great,, (no- its essential lol) but it all -none the less- comes down to a roll of the dice,,,,Each and every time we try something new. When we pop those pills,, rub something into our skin,, or ingest it in another form. We could be severely compromising our health and future quality of life.

My path has really been a cowards method , with really no choice involved in it,im- (for the most part riding the progression caused by my meds)-,, but i do consider your words deeply,,with each new step i take. Thanks you Lotus for the hard work and obviously long hours you,ve had to spend, absorbing this information, and what has to be a tedious reposting of it all for us here.

Your a brilliant person my friend, please be careful in your search for new answers,,Smile
