Here's an interesting blog by Dara Hoffman-Fox, a Licensed Professional Counselor and a gender therapist, : (graphic source)

Lotus - Thanks for posting Dara's "spectrum". I find it really helpful. I found Dara online on youtube a few days ago and stayed up until 1pm watching tons of videos from the blog. It is really good stuff. I really like the advice on how to think about being trans.

Hi Marcy, (you're welcome) Wink Too bad I didn't know that the 2011 WPATH update included that gender fluid/non binary gender types can transition (w/HrT meds), I could've educated the discriminatory endocrinologist I first went too: his words were " that such things (@gender fluid) don't exist ".

Ask a Gender Therapist: Can I Transition if I’m Non-Binary or Genderfluid?

Hi Jamie,

First impressions of the scale and I think of my daily emotional battle with GID lol. A numbered scale makes better sense to me, like let's say #5 ( I can't see being yellow ). One thing for certain, most people can dail up (open a can of whoop ass) aggression when needed, now whether that's GI joe (Gen. George S. Patton) or Barbie, lol who knows, meaning no specific gender flips the switch.

So today, I'm neutral dysphoric Wink

Lotus, thank you..

I don't know that I have daily battles anymore, but I have had them... I guess before accepting this side of me I had them a lot more, but I really didn't know much about anything other than I was 'different,' and afraid of what I might find if I investigated more - like it might 'go away' after time...

Looking at it, like now, I feel #1. Morning times do this for me. I feel soft and perhaps a bit randy.. Tongue I don't spend lots - if any around #12 anymore, even as a boy. Wink The mental part of herbs have changed so much of how I feel. Like finally, my body and mind have come together, but without guilt, questions, or shame for it.

Ladies,

Thanks for all who have commented. I am 53 and just finally beginning the journey to happiness. I am really happy as to have found this place/group of other wonderful ladies in transition as well. Right now I am just obsorbing it all, and hope to be valued contributor in time. I admire so many of you ladies. Thanks for all of your openness and truthfulness.

So I was a bit bummed out late this past week as I finally took the plunge into seeing what I could find in regards to local support groups. Sadly what I found seemed geared for TG youth support and their parents. Alas it appears everything is being catered for the younger generations. I am left a bit envious of the younger generations. So where does that leave the older generations, out in the cold? Fend for yourself. Ehh, oh well. Cest La Vie.
