Let me take a moment to state my goals, because I know that they are different from most of you girls here.

For the time being, at least, I need to minimize the physical changes, while maximizing the mental benefits. (I know this might be somewhat controversial; I can create a thread over on the main forum to discuss this, if that makes sense.)

So given that, what are suggestions for a program to achieve that? My ad hoc program seems to be doing that, but I will be the first to admit that it's a hodge podge. For example, would taking a low dose of PM make more sense?

Thanks! Smile

Michelle

Hi Michelle,

I'd keep it here, imo!. To have just the Emotional Benefits without the psychical? Well, thats a question! Low dose sounds like a better choice, for instance, the manufacture suggests 2 per day and only for 15 days (for bio-females). Nothing for suggested use of a bio-male. So, the wisdom was to double and beyond that for males. If you go by the suggested use you could enjoy the Emotional Beneifits, (or EB for short )with a smaller chance of breast enlargement. Just balance with something like zinc or in this case SP, which normally I don't recommend because of the anti-estrogenic properties (see any of the recent posts regarding SP).

Wow, thanks for this info!

So, to summarize, I've got a better chance at achieving my goals going with a low dose of PM, rather than working with some weaker phytoestrogenic herbs, right? Smile

And then offset that somewhat (is that what you mean by balance?) with some SP or zinc? (I currently take both; any ballpark for the dosage?)

(Sorry if I'm beating this to death. I've been known to do that occasionally, or so I've been told. Wink I claim it's an occupational hazard of being an engineer. Smile )

Like they say, YMWV Wink

It's not scientific, just my opinion!

But since your just starting off, I'd say keep in the normal range (recommended amounts). Members often supplement with weaker herbs, meaning there's no one magic pill, if it did exist, it'd be a big seller. But the overlap between supplements is undeniable, and can be tricky or even dangerous when you don't know what you're doing! So best to go slow until you learn the ropes and how your body reacts to each supplements. Introduce them one at a time, and give it time on each. The compulsion is when you first get the supplements is to start gulping handfuls at a time, (guilty) Do not do this people!!!, not worth the risk!

Slow and steady!!Wink

Update:

I finally got some PM last Thursday. I'm trying to get a handle on the dose still. I have 500 mg caps. So far, I've tried 1 morning and evening, backed down to 1 in the morning, and 0 today (but still feeling it).

I also take SP. Currently, I have two large bottles of the fruit instead of the extract, though. Sad I'm taking 2250 mg, each morning and evening.

(Fwiw, for other health related reasons, I take a number of other supplements; the most relevant ones are probably zinc and B6, on the one hand, and EPA/DHA and Citracal Max, on the other hand.)

I figured it was also time to try posting some measurements. I've taken them several times, but have gotten inconsistent measurements, so I'm going to post my "best guess" for the time being. Hopefully, they will become more accurate with practice.

Height: 5' 9"
Weight: 246 lbs (actively working on decreasing that)

Underarms: 45"
B: 50"
UB: 47"
W: 47" (also decreasing with weight)
H: 48"

(Any guesses on sizes for me? I don't know, and the online size calculators give results over a very large range. Wink )

Update

Weight: 245.8 lbs
Waist: 46.5 in (?)

Progress stalled this week, probably due to some meds I'm currently taking (prednisone). I'm hoping progress will resume this week as I go off that.

For a reference point, I weighed about 257 lbs around the first of the year.

Congratulations on the loss of weigh. I'm still struggling with mine. I don't remember it being this hard to lose weigh before. Huh

I don't think you can judge that you've stalled in so short a time frame. If you mean that the soreness in your breasts has stopped, keep in mind that the soreness with come and go, even during the course of a day.
