new to pm, permanent effects?

#1

Hi,

I have been trying to understand for a long time whether I am transgender. I decided I would start taking a regimen of Pueraria Mirifica and Saw Palmetto to see if this could help clarify things for me. Now, I don't want things to get 'out of control'. :-) I just want to try it for a short while and see how it makes me feel. From reading this forum, my understanding is that once breast buds form, they are permanent. So how do I go about doing this? Just hope that breast buds don't form while I do my trial-run? Or is it okay to stop as soon as I start developing them, i.e. if I stop right away then is it reversible?

Thanks!

Hello.

Welcome to the forum! Smile

I think the fact that you're on this site asking about the possibility of growing breasts suggests to a degree that you are transgender. I think this is one thread that you may find of interest:

Is there anything specific that makes you question your gender identity? This may help indicate whether NBE is something in your best interests or not.

The initial changes of NBE is fat redistribution to your breasts, which is a reversible process if you stop taking herbs. However, breast buds are not reversible as they are comprised of actual breast tissue.

Thanks for your reply.

From reading the accounts of trans folks online, my experiences are very similar. Early preoccupation with the subject, in puberty the desire to become female intensified, dysphoria, et cetera. In my day to day life, it is mostly a sexual outlet, though, fantasizing about being a girl. I can go months without any gender dysphoria to speak of. But then it will hit me for a few days to couple of weeks. Since it comes and goes, I kind of wonder whether it would just be the opposite if I transitioned, i.e. a few months of being happy with a female body, and then wanting to be male. In which case, it clearly isn't worth the effort. So the reason I am doing this is to give me a closer idea of what it would feel like, not just to imagine in my head.

Hmm, I guess then there is no safe way to do this. I could be one of those people who develop breast buds after a very short time. I wouldn't know until it was too late to reverse it...

Hi

with me I started to get fat distribution after 2 weeks. My breasts stated to bud between 3 and 4 weeks, now 4 weeks on they are the size of golf balls. As I carry a bit of weight especially around the stomach (hope to loose this soon) my budding breasts are not really noticable. This of course will not last Long, hopefully soon they will start to increase in size as there has now been quite a lot of fat distributed to my breasts.

I presume once your buds start you can stop taking PM and they will only continue to grow as long as PM remains in your Body (I've heard about 1 month)

If you do go down this route it would be very difficult to do a trial run as once you get breasts there is now going back unless with surgery.

Have you thought about pumping as this is a very slow process and you can stop anytime, as well as not getting other effects like fat Distribution etc ...

Clarity... what does it mean, for you?

There are things you can take that give visions, and clarity, but the two you mentioned aren't on that list. Tongue

Anyway, should you choose to try pueraria mirifica, just know that you will feel it working well before any growth occurs. But I doubt it will help you figure out where you're going. There are physiological effects, some of which may be good for you, but there's no empirical basis for using that to draw any further conclusions.

Hah! Well, I guess the idea was that I have been wrestling with these questions for a long time, but all this time my body has been under the influence of male hormones. It only seems fair to see how I feel and think about it under the influence of female hormones. So I want that different perspective. Also the fact that if my body starts to change physically, even if those changes are reversible, I guess that makes it all feel more real.

By feeling it working before any growth occurs, you mean mental effects or other physiological changes?

You will certainly feel different when you change your body's hormone balance. But for good, bad, or otherwise, I'm just suggesting to not read too much into it. In other words, if a little estrogen calms your mind or clears your acne, it doesn't mean you need to book a flight to Thailand.

Physiological. You will feel sore and tender in the boob area before they start to grow enough to show. Growing pains, as it were. (With PM, anyway. I got some growth but never soreness with other herbs.)

As for mental effects, there are some. It is, however, difficult to differentiate between actual effects, and psychosomatic effects (aka placebo effect). For example, anyone who might report themselves suddenly overwhelmingly emotional at a chick flick, one week after starting to take PM... that's pretty much all in the head.

It is interesting to me how the behaviors that trannies "notice" changing about themselves on hormones... always end up being highly stereotypical female behaviors that most women I know scoff at. Crying at the drop of a hat, for instance. I don't actually know females who do this. Or excessive giggling -- teenagers maybe, not so much in adults. Or excessive use of terms of endearment like "honey" or "sweetheart" -- that's more the province of gay men, and the more camp ones at that. Or Southern church ladies.

Not that there's anything inherently wrong with those behaviors, mind you, but a few pills can't do that to you unless you want to do it already, in which case you don't need the pills for it. Make sense?

Hi plutonian nights, if you do go down this road, it would be interesting to know how your sperm counts get affected, particularly if there are any permanent changes. Concerns over sterility is basically the reason why I'm not popping those things right now. Thanks.

Yes, there are eventually permanent effects with both natural & pharma hormone replacement, with said changes usually kicking in faster and more abruptly with the latter. (yeah that's just one of the reasons it can be very dangerous.)

The mental will become apparent before any physical, but when the physical does you'll likely be amazed and then freak out a bit, which is perfectly normal.

This is a great place to participate because many many of the folks here have already been there, done that. There really is no replacement for the support one can get from a community that knows EXACTLY what you're going through.

You can check your count and motility at home with a cheap microscope, something im considering doing myself just to keep an eye
