I`m only taking what most would call a maintenance dose. But, I also realize I could still become estrogen dominant. So i figure a break once in a while is good.

One would think by taking PM it would only enhance things further but it seems to be doing the opposite?? Anyone come across a reasonable explanation for this ?

I think one of the big theories is that for a Genetic male with gender dysphoria, it is caused by neurological/physiological feminization of the brain in the womb during the second trimester. So you have a brain with a bunch of female wiring, and estrogen receptors, in a body that can never satisfy them. Low dose HRT and bang, receptors filled, things working as designed, and everything goes from GD hell, to actually pretty good. This is why some gender therapists will use low dose hrt as a diagnostic tool. Appearentally people who present appearing to have GD that do not, don't feel better on low dose HRT.
Denita in the "Born this Way" thread might have some actual research threads to this end posted.
I can scrounge references if you need them.
