Although, there ARE a lot of women these days that have male names!! Michael Learned springs to mind. Other names are basically male, but, if you switch a letter or two, it becomes fem. Bobbi, Ricki, Danni, Dennis becomes Denise, Donny becomes Donna or Don becomes Dawn, Jules becomes Julie, etc., or you can add one letter to make it fem, Carl can become Carla or Carly, Dale becomes Dayle, Robert becomes Roberta, Frederick becomes Fredericka, etc..
I went to school with a gorgeous, very sexy girl, that always dressed very sexy. I think her name was Doreen or Dolores, but she had everyone call her, Bronco!!
For some reason I'm reminded of Johnny Cash's song "A Boy Named Sue."
And there was a parody of it, an answer record, a few years later, but I can't recall the title of it. Something like, "A Girl Named Pete".
Jim Stafford did one called, "My Girl, Bill". Through the whole song it sounds like he's saying her name is Bill (COULD be Billie!), but at the end, you find out he's telling a guy named, Bill, that she's his girl.
A bass player that used to be in my band before I joined calls herself, Nigel.
Dana can be used by both, so can Kelly, Micky, and a number of others.
