Hair removal devices

#11

Happy to, I hadn't realized anyone was reading it.

Yes, I've been very impressed. I've tried shaving, waxing, epilating. Nothing really worked for as long as I want and it would always get red and bumpy when it grew back (lot's of ingrowns). Note to use this product, the directions say not to epilate, but only shave.

I've only used this new system 3 times so far (3rd time today) but I've been incredibly impressed. When it was time for the third use, I didn't even really felt I needed it much. The hair did grow back but took MUCH longer to grow back. It was MUCH shorter, sparser and thinner. Some places were more noticeable than others. I used to have really hairy spots on by back - like an ape! And it's hardly noticeable now.

My ass and upper arms/shoulders used to be really hairy and now it's very smooth. I couldn't even see the hair without looking very carefully/closely. It's so fine and short. I did just shave and use it a 3rd time, I'm hoping it will be gone completely. But honestly, it's like women's hair already and this was only after two applications.

My wife doesn't want me doing my chest or legs but I did cheat a bit around the edges and it seems to work very well there also. I look completely normal waxing boxer shorts, but in briefs I look a bit ridiculous as my hair line abruptly ends.

I also did my bikini area but it doesn't seem to have been as effective there. But again - it's only been twice.

I have to say I'm pretty excited. It takes a while to do any large area, but when I add up all the times I've shaved, waxed, epilated in the past... well this is a huge time saver. My only concern is that I may be too tempted to go further, and then I may regret it. But so far, it's great being smooth.

I only used it twice so it's hard to tell if it's working but I would definitely say that it's growing back slower. My wife has been using it longer and she is very happy with it and swears it's working. She says it has been growing back sparser and sparser and slower.

It doesn't hurt to use and there's no mess so far it seems like a good investment.

Keep the updates coming please. Have always been curious about the at home Tria & Veet systems.

Bought an epilator years ago & they do work in reducing shaving. Have only used on legs, but if the hair is very coarse you may have ingrowns to deal with.

These devices are all IPL NOT laser. Results will never be permanent, but if you're willing to keep spending money to continue using it indefinitely, it will cause a long term reduction. Much better than shaving, depilatory, or epilatory systems. Epilatory is aka, waxing, sugaring, tweezing, etc. Depilatory is cream based stuff, IPL is Tria, etc.

Currently, the only actual laser I've seen marketed towards home use has very bad ratings and costs over a thousand dollars, for good permanent hair removal you still need to see a specialist and pay out in the thousands.

There are home use galvanic electrolysis machines, and they are inexpensive to buy, but they are very difficult to learn how to use and still, mixed ratings, and not as good as seeing a specialist who will have much more training, and much better equipment.

The product doesn't claim to be permanent but it does say there is a 70% reduction of hair. The Amazon reviews are great though, even better. And if I have to do this one a month.... to maintain... well that's a lot better than what I was doing before. I just wish they came up with one that covered more surface area. My wife said it takes forever to do her legs!

Yep, I did say it's better than anything short of permanent. I just need and want permanent myself, and I'm sure so do many others on here. I don't want any of them getting the wrong idea.

I thought the Tria 4x was an 810nm laser, not IPL?

Sadly while an older model of Tria was diode laser, the current models are all IPL. They don't seem interested in bringing back diodes to their consumer products either. If you were lucky enough to get an older model while it was available, congrats on you for as far as you made it with it. They don't even sell replacement diodes anymore.

Mine has all the laser warnings on the bottom.

And the 4x is still on their website and and Amazon and labelled as a "The only FDA approved home laser product"

I hope they are not phasing them out, I have been happy with it and recommended it to others. And these things do not last forever, I don't ever want to have to bother with IPL...

Had it on the low setting as they recommend at first. No pain at all. Not sure how effective it was since the hair seems to be growing out as usual. Will try it at a higher power next week. It is pretty quick though. Only took a few minutes total.

More to follow...

Looking to use it on underarms, chest (as much as my wife will allow), abs, groin, and legs. Have had laser hair removal on groin 10 years ago and most grew back. Don't like epilating or shaving since I get ingrowns on like 10% of the hairs. Yuck. Keeping my fingers crossed that it works for me. Will report back in a month or so.

I haven't been as diligent as I should have been the past few months but I have had some good results. Used on underarms about a dozen times and have had at least a 50% reduction. On breasts and tummy, about the same. Have only done my upper thighs and feet/ankles on my legs so far and it is working, just slowly. It definitely takes more time than they say it does. I spend about 90 minutes to do my underarms, breasts, and tummy. About another 90 for waist to almost knees front and back and feet/ankles. I'm 6'1" 280lb so there's a lot of me to cover though. I took some pictures but they don't show enough detail. Will try a better camera.

On the plus side, I've had far fewer ingrown hairs than when I waxed or epilated. I've tried it on my face a few times and it has reduced growth a bit, but I am at least 60% grey so I don't have much hope for it there.

Overall, I'm pleased with the results. Hoping to bite the bullet and shave my entire legs and arms soon. Love the softness! My lovely wife isn't ready for that now but is understanding. Life is hard sometimes. I love her dearly.

Has anyone else had better/worse results with the BellaFlash?

I am a permanent hairless individual... other than my head that is.

Cancer treatments took the body fur away and it never came back.. And for that part at least, I am grateful

Ah, that is true. Many of the heavily controlled drugs used in chemo can cause permanent hair loss. Be glad it was just the fur and didn't touch your scalp, it could just as easily been the other way, or been all hair everywhere. That's part of why they still don't approve any of those drugs for a systemic permanent hair removal, though they've been testing various formulas for a while now to try to find one that reliable targets just the fur. Of course, there's still all the OTHER problems with all those treatments.

For now, laser can get rid of most fur permanently, but for beards and "down there" you still need galvanic electrolysis.
