wow...
this guy.
Quote:A rare issue of a few men—both homosexual and heterosexual men, including some who sought sex-change surgery because they were erotically aroused by the thought or image of themselves as women—has spread to include women as well as men.
Oh dear... someone's been reading the repeatedly debunked and outdated analysis of Ray Blanchard. Not a good start.
Quote:Over the last ten or fifteen years, this phenomenon has increased in prevalence, seemingly exponentially. Now, almost everyone has heard of or met such a person.
Due to greater acceptance of transgender individuals in society, more people are being open about their gender identity and it is more often recognised at a younger age. This isn't some pathological meme, you sack of used jock straps.
Quote:Publicity, especially from early examples such as “Christine” Jorgenson, “Jan” Morris, and “Renee” Richards, has promoted the idea that one’s biological sex is a choice, leading to widespread cultural acceptance of the concept.
In the history of things that have never been said, this has never been said the most. Ignoring that he chose to use the word "sex" rather than gender, no one in their right mind has ever claimed your
biological sex/gender can be chosen. Except
this guy, though I did say nobody in their right mind...
Quote:The photograph of the posed, corseted, breast-boosted Bruce Jenner (a man in his mid-sixties, but flaunting himself as if a “pin-up” girl in her twenties or thirties) on the cover of Vanity Fair suggests that he may fit the behavioral mold that Ray Blanchard has dubbed an expression of “autogynephilia”—from gynephilia (attracted to women) and auto (in the form of oneself).
Think you're talking about Caitlyn Jenner, fuck face. Your rhetoric is very familiar. Also, what a surprise. Ray Blanchard is indeed cited.
Quote:Transgendered men do not become women, nor do transgendered women become men. All (including Bruce Jenner) become feminized men or masculinized women, counterfeits or impersonators of the sex with which they “identify.” In that lies their problematic future.
More revealing of his personal ideology. I'd be interested in what he thought about intersex individuals who do chose to live as one or the other sex. Imposters? Hmm.
Quote:How to Treat Gender Dysphoria
Yeah, let's cure it like we did for the gays. That worked so well. Oh wait, no, it's been an epic failure and repeatedly proven next to impossible and inhumane. In a 2002 study the success rate of people claiming to have been cured by conversion therapy was 3% and "
Many respondents felt harmed by the attempt to change, and reported depression, suicidal ideation and attempts, hypervigilance of gender-deviant mannerisms, social isolation, fear of being a child abuser and poor self-esteem."
Quote:Those with Gender Dysphoria Need Evidence-Based Care
...
The larger issue is the meme itself. The idea that one’s sex is fluid and a matter open to choice
And ending more or less where we started. The psychological benefits of transitioning
are proven.
Being transgender isn't a choice. The decision to transition is. Transitioning is becoming more prevalent thanks to a more accepting society and the regret rate for those who chose to transition or undergo surgery is also falling as society becomes even more accepting. The stats he has chosen to back up his claims go back to the 1970s.
Cure intolerance.
