Free the nipple campaign

#1

Hey fellow NBE'ers!
I would like to know your thoughts on the Free The Nipple campaign.
Personally, I support it and think it highly unfair that a woman exposing her nipple is seen as "sexual" and public indecency.
I see men walk around topless all the time here but if a woman even wears a revealing shirt they get dirty looks.
People need to stop over-sexualising breasts, that isn't to say that people shouldn't be attracted to them, but women should be allowed to walk around topless if they want.
There was recently a public march for Free the Nipple in Brighton, England (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-...ciety.html) and some reactions I saw in the comments were revolting! However there was a lot of support from both men and women on the day.

One girl commented asking where would be a good place to upload her video of the parade and got the reply "pornhub.com" which was followed by comments about how hilarious the guy who replied it is.

Here are some more comments, positive and negative, on the campaign (most are negative as I struggled to find positive comments on various sites):

Quote:Oof, nasty. No surprises then; just a bunch of feminists and hippies, and all unattractive (them being feminists and hippies adds to their unpleasantness)

Quote:Do the women genuinely think the blokes are there 'in support'!?!

Quote:Sure was a lot of blokes with sunglasses in attendance. Just sayin'. Big Grin

Quote:Oh for God's sake, put them away. We already get enough of women posting n aked selfies all the time. When exactly did it become socially acceptable to do that????? Show some dignity and self respect. This lot are putting women's rights back by being so militant over something that is insignificant. How about protesting about FGM or honor k illings or something more important, and I am a woman by the way.

Quote:Women should be allowed to bare their breasts in public, once they have passed inspection by me, in private.

Quote:Completely agree with the equality but in that everybody should keep their clothes on!!!! Boobs or man boobs nobody wants that in public

Quote:An attractive woman showing their stuff is one thing. A feminist cow showing off their stuff...there just is not enough eye and brain bleach for that

Quote:nobody is forcing you to get your globes out, and good on you if you want to keep your top on, if others want to be topless then that's their choice, breasts aren't offensive, it's just a state of mind, you say if people want to strip they can do it in their own garden, put the boot on the other foot, why should people have to keep their tops on just because you don't like it, and I think to say you'd get called names is a bit crass, the only reason you'd maybe get called names is if you told someone to put a top on !!

Quote:he Nipples are Innocent, set them Free

Quote:Hallelujah ! Praise the Lord. Vive La Diferance. What the problem is ?

I think that's enough quotes for now, I'm sure you all get the idea.
What are your thoughts on the censorship of women's nipples (both in public and the media)?

A note: Please don't jump down people's throats because of a difference of opinions, I would like this thread to be one of reasonable discussion.

Sometimes we worry about things that shouldn't really matter in life.. Tongue

Events like this bring out the stereotypes and conservative saviors by the masses..

Yet, just another inequality/and gender division between men and women..

I feel like it is a good thing. I forgot were but there is a place that allows women to be topless. I seen comments saying things how it is bad because saying dumb things like "What happens if they take there shirt off in a library?" or "What happens if they take there shirt off in certain places?". I feel like that wouldn't happen because it's not like there going to be in a public place and be like 'Let me take my shirt off now'. To me if people have a problem with them freeing there nipple they can turn away.

Good for you! That must be liberating! I've often fantasized about a gynecomastia pride parade, with guys with breasts marching topless down Fifth Avenue.
