NEVER MIND. That person has retired and my endo is now the only one from here to the next state over. Why can't I ever have nice things? I'm stuck with this crotchety old man who's knowledge as old as he is. I don't mean to be so salty but my life is the meaning of "from bad to worse"

I'm thinking of asking about the injection, any thoughts?

Might as well if all he's going to give you is 2mg's what's your levels like with that dose?

I don't know, he hasn't tested me in over a year.

I called to schedule an appointment with him, and it turns out someone cancelled theirs just before I called, so I have an 11am tomorrow! Usually it takes 2-4 months to get in with him, so this is some good news!

If you can get them, injections are the gold standard in HRT. I am not quite sure how you will hide that from your girlfriend thou.

Is it a take home DIY thing or do I just go back to the doc every 2 weeks?

If DIY, that's easy. We have separate bedrooms. Then again, not so easy because I've never used a syringe in my life, and have a fear of self-inflicting pain.

If at Doc's, I just say that they're running blood tests for my thyroid, which isn't far from truth. I need a lot of blood testing for my thyroid hormone due to having Hashimoto's Hypothyroidism.

Oh well, I'll find out today!  Big Grin

More good news! Big Grin

My endo agreed to switch me to the injection! Unfortunately we don't know if my insurance will cover it. I'll find out within the next day or two though, so wish me luck!

And yes, sadly it is a take home DIY thing, but the doc told me I will be shown how one week, then have to demonstrate it myself the next time.

Great news!
The Stick isn't difficult. you have more sensation in a finger prick, you get pulled into sticking the needle in straight (so it doesn't hurt) and sort fo throw it like a dart, and then you realize "that was supposed to hurt."
But it didn't, really - there are no nerves in the muscles for pain, essentially. (Free nerve endings convey pain, usually in the dermis --> Odds are you can't hit it if you try, unless you're an absolute pussy. To be blunt...)

Pharmacy says still no approval yet, but no denial either. I guess I wait until monday and try again.

On another note, my mom did a little bit of girl shopping with me today, and bought me an eyelash curler, hair brush, blowdryer, scissor-style tweezers, a hand mirror and compact mirror, mascara, and an eyebrow pencil.
It's amazing how much confidence a little girl-primping can give me, my mood has done a complete 180!

The small beard is here to stay for now unfortunately, my daughter would be heartbroken if I shaved it. She's 5 now, but all during her infancy all I had to do to calm her was brush my beard across her nose lol

As already mentioned, its painless. The hardest part is your first injection.

What was your prescription ?? ml/mg

( my prescription  is 1ml/20mg every 14 days as an example )
