I "came out" to my little brother yesterday....
He was raised by his father in a strong old fashioned church setting, and in his teens I knew him to be racist, anti-gay, and all that garbage, so I feared the worst. It was very difficult to gather up the courage I needed to break the news to him that I am transgender.
He's 24 now, and to my surprise, he took it exactly like I hoped. He was very open minded, and understood perfectly. He said he had long since forsaken his church teachings, calling them "bigoted and closed minded"
His exact words were "I'm happy you found yourself, who am I to deny someone else's happiness? You do whatever you need to be happy, and for you to be happy makes me happy."
Words cannot describe how relieved I am.

Congratulations on one of the bigger milestones of life. :-)
Hope this is the sign of things to come.

When I first discovered this site, my intentions were to simply grow a little breast tissue, due to being married to a homophobic, anti-trans cis-woman. Over time, the long suppressed, deeply buried "real me" started fighting her way to the surface, with a little help from pueraria mirifica, hehe. Now that my wife is my EX-wife, the girl inside has had enough of being locked up and is kicking the guy from the driver's seat. I'm no longer hiding myself from those close to me.
And now that you mention it, I might just have to find out how to change my username one of these days...
A prelude to getting my legal name and gender changed in the future? *smirks* That does sound nice.
I'm still deciding on a new real name though. for many years I've gone by
Keira pronounced
Kay-ear-uh in the online world, but anyone I've mentioned it to says "oh that just
screams tranny-name". Hearing that from several people has somewhat tarnished that name for me,
but I still like it ._.

Thanks for the support, everyone!
Thursday I had an appointment with my endocrinologist, and he seemed surprised that I don't suddenly have breasts and no facial hair after only a couple weeks on the injection. What a dip. At least he ordered blood work to measure my T and E levels, so let's wait this one out and see what the papers have to say.
One thing I should note is that on the previous baseline test (pre HRT), my E level was extremely low even by male standards. I was at the very lowest end of the normal male range. Does this mean anything for my journey? Will I need a larger dose?

Estrogen test came back today...
Good news, my E level is no longer below male range. Now its within normal for males
ESTRADIOL
