As such, it is for sexual gratification (mostly), therefore it ceases when out sex drive lowers. Since one of the effects of E on the male body is a reduced sex drive, here's the ansver to Katie's question from a cisgender male crossdresser point of view.
Katie's case, like many other, is one of transgenderism that leads to transexualism. Most probably it's not testosterone driven and it's hardly ever been a fetish. And that's why with her "it didn't work".
I`m srtuggling to understand this in terms of my question though, so these people in that article cited as TS, are Not TS because they had their desire lowered by E? but are in fact as you state, fetishist or sexually motivated?
or are you saying that since my desire didn`t alter in that way, but almost the Opposite that I`m not a TS?
I`m a little confused here. xx
This passage from the article you linked is foundamentally wrong:
"
In addition, to account for the periodic need to cross dress in certain males, I predict that eventually we will find that as testosterone levels rise above some threshold in the daily lives of these males (Ahokoski et al 1998), that the enzyme aromatase becomes active and temporarily converts testosterone into estradiol forcing a strong desire to dress and live, even if only temporarily, as a woman."
It's not wrong by my standards, it's wrong from a scientific point of view beacuse it confuses gender with sex. Hormones are physical factor that has to do with SEX, while clothing and mannerisms are a social factor that has to do with GENDER. There is nothing in a female's DNA that makes her wear pretty clothes, high heels etc... This is extremely important to understand.
Also, to further clarify, there is nothing in an hormone that will make you want to change your gender, your sex or your sexual orientation. This is a basic mistake that Julie makes. If what she says was true, then the thousands of gays and crossdressers injected with Testosterone as a "cure" in the early 1900 would have actually been "cured". (See Alan Turing).
There are people that are latent transgender, I believe mostly because they are in denial or because the idea of transitioning still hasn't crossed their mind. These people may approach things like NBE to "experiment" with their feelings. Seeing a way to reconcile their perceived gender with their body image is why they don't stop. In their case the idea of feminisation is latent in their mind and it is freed as they progress with NBE, ultimately turning into HRT and in some cases SRS. This, Katie, I think is your case.
I am not saying that moving from "sex driven crossdressing" is impossible. I am saying that the motivation behind a continuous use of hormones and NBE are not sex related, so they don't depend from the push given by testosterone to a genetically male body.
"Real" crossdressers do not convert T into E, otherwise wearing heels and bras would make a man grow boobs. Their crossdressing strongly depends on their levels of testosterone.
@Julie: as much as it is annoying for a transgender/transexual person to be labelled with their gender assigned at birth, it is also annoying for a male to be labelled as a transgender when they are not. It's not offensive, just annoying beacuse it shifts the perspective of the conversation. Let me insist on this: after 38 years in my body and plenty of experiences in all directions I have a clear idea of who I am. Some people, see above, can change their mind, but I think that you should respect my self identification as cisgender male. And the same goes for many other cis male users on this site. I am not labelling you in any way. I am trying to drill into Katie's mind because this is what this thread is about, but please refrain from labelling others.
