estrogen showing in blood tests?

#1

so, ive been lurking, avidly i may add, a lot to take in hence little posting, apologies..........

the point of my thread is............ having had a full blood test, and discussing hair loss? and my pm etc for nbe with doc, not sure if or what he made of it, or indeed got it?

all test came back normal or satisfactory............

now this i find quite odd, as i have been taking pm pills for several months, since march?, and some blockers, all herbal, all ebay.

so, how come my bloods dont show elevated levels of estrogen??

is it because the pm pills are garbage, which worries me as it seems a minefield to get devent pm in the uk, lots of threads about it but no true 'this works, i can recommend this supplier'

your educated and revered thoughts please....

Somebody else verify this, but I'm pretty sure that test wont read out the amount of phytoestrogen, unless you specifically request that substance to be tested for maybe. It's a different compound that does the same thing. So if you're getting estrogenic effects while taking it, don't worry, the tests don't matter in this case. Your T reading should actually be discernible however, if I'm correct.

When you get blood tests, usually they are checking for specific items, like chloesterol.  They are not testing for everything in your bloodstream.  I found this out a while back when taking estradiol - at a recent physical, I asked the doctor about levels of testosterone and estrogen and he said they do not test for those items unless specifically asked for.  This could be why no mention of the PM - they are not looking for it

Really nice breasts you've been growing whilst lurking there  Smile
The above replies are correct about blood tests, and certainly in the UK. I have my bloods checked every quarter due to a blood problem so mine a fairly thorough, checks all the usual 'normal' stuff and for me liver/kidney function and a few more things besides. However, it is far from a full blood test, they only ever test certain things.
If you want specific tests that aren't related to a health issue, you may find that a doctor will not test you under the NHS, so you may have to go private and pay.
That said carry on what you are doing as you do have nice breasts  Smile
