"10:1 extract" meaning?

#1

Hello everyone, today i'm at day 2 of taking Pueraria Mirifica and Red Reishi.

I currently am taking 2 pills of 250 mg of PM (the brand is Oxford Vitality), but i noticed there is in the back of the packaging a table with inside written "from 250mg of a 10:1 extract" Amount 2500 mg.

Does it mean i am taking 250 mg or 2500mg of PM per pill???

I am scared i may am taking too much PM daily,  honestly i was feeling some cramps already but not sure if it is normal in the beginning or is the effect of misinterpreting the instructions.

I apologize for the dumb question, hope to get some guidance with PM. (Also i try to post the chart as an image).

That SHOULD (on paper) mean that it's pretty strong, but seem to recall that (some) people who have actually tried OV's version of PM did not find it so, and either stopped using it or switched back to something else.

You might want to have a look at Ainterol's offerings if you're interested in PM.

As for ratios, this Herb Pharm page covers a bit of what that should mean.

Yeah i looked it up and found another thread about Oxford Vitality and how it wasn't doing much on some users. That said,  i  hope i didn't waste my money with this and hope they will start kicking some changes at least. I'm kind of a broke student right now, so i went for these because they were cheap and reliable (expedition included). I have a total of 240 caps, so if i take 2 daily they should last for 4 months i guess. Then i'll give Ainterol a shot definetly, thank you a lot for the advice.

Also, regarding the link you sent i haven't understood too much (i know i am dumb) but it seems i am taking 5000mg? I apologize, i still can't understand it Big Grin" alt="Big Grin" title="Big Grin"> . I found this on the internet though, i understood the aspect ratio with the sixth page : http://www.hpspecialists.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/Herbal-Extracts.pdf

This is a very HEAVY dose !! You are taking 5000 mg daily which will have serious ill effects on your liver. I suggest you opt for pure PM. These mixed once rarely work. You are also really young so pls be careful with the dosages.

Oh gosh, so that was true! I don't want to mess up already at the first week, thank you BoobyDoo for noticing it, i was still uncertain about it. I guess i should immediately start looking at other brands since one of these pills is already 2500mg alone. It really sucks to buy it again, i guess i wasted money with OV.

What do you mean with pure PM and what brand i should look for?

Re: pure vs mixed one

The OV PM does not appear to be mixed or combined with anything else (other than common additives used to make tablets/capsules).

The real concern is the purported ratio and reported lack of results with it.

Many of the more common PM supplements are about 500mg and without the added confusion of extract ratios.

Extract ratios seem to make more sense (and are more useful) when it comes to liquid extracts.

Ok, so this night because of insomnia i checked around more informations and yeah i found out the exact thread about Oxford Vitality lacking results (here). Which also cleared and certified some of my doubts on it (like the 10:1 extract thingy).

So yeah, i guess i wasted money with it... but! At least now i can try to not waste time too with these pills (and i should thank you all for the help <3 ).

Now, after another more careful research, i found out that Ainterol and Pueraria UK are the only brands which can ship to my country. Given the fact that they are both top brands (according to this forum) i think i will go with Ainterol (uk) because of its reliability and good results, i chose this over Pueraria Uk for the 40 more pills in a single bottle (which is the only amount i can afford for now). This one:

Until i get the new Ainterol pills, i will keep using OV's pills (but just 1 daily now).

Honestly, i feel relieved, i thought i had no way of getting the best Pueraria out there and feared to get stuck with the other, now i feel like there is some hope. Thank you to all the people who helped me with this problem <3 <3 And for everyone new reading this: Avoid Oxford Vitality PM, not worth.
