I ran a hedge trimmer over a strand of pine saplings today and it exhausted me. (Picrel). I'm so tired of menial tasks literally laying me out with pain & exhaustion. This is the worst part of HRT if you ask me. My biceps are killing me.
I only did 1/4 of what I wanted to, because for some reason the trimmer started slowing & overheating. I didn't detect any damage so the situation is perplexing. At least I cleared out a couple hundred saplings that sprung up around my best Serviceberry Tree, so I'll have to deal with the others later.
After that I raked the mulch off of a raised garden bed and ran the tiller over the 4x24' bed. The soil is fluffy black gold, so that didn't contribute too much to my physical exhaustion.
Tomorrow I'm going to take a gamble by planting our English Green Peas a little early, but I think it'll all work out. Next week is my trip out of town and when I return I'll be volunteering at the local Veteran's Hall at an event given by my new employer.
I return Friday from an eight hour dive and then Saturday morning I'll be driving four hours to get 10 cases of fresh chickens packed in dry ice for a big fundraiser party the next weekend sponsored by a motor sports magazine. It's going to be a busy two+ weeks.
I'm hoping the peas do well. This is a new organic bush variety I've never tried.
