Has or does anyone use waist trainers or corsets to help train their body over time to have a smaller waist to give more of a hour glass figure?
If so what have you used and how did or is it working for you.

I have used the ones you wear while you workout that are supposed to make you sweat and trim up your stomach, but for this thread I'm specifically referring to the ones that will slowly alter your body shape over time the longer you wear it and while slowly making it tighter.

the problem with things you buy on Amazon is that they are mostly useless.
Corset should be tailor made to be effective and the cost a lot.
I remember trying the a waist trainer off amazon and changing it 3 times, going from size L to S. It had 3 rows of hooks and still I was able to fully close it in a matter of days even at a S size and believe me, I'm not fat but not even close to a S size. I think fabric would just loosen after a while.
I'd love to have one tailor made for me tho!

I got quite amazing corset from Amazon, the tall black one with seven hooks. I've posted a picture wearing it quite some time ago and its surprisingly good for the price. Also reviews were praising the cost/quality. Obviously a 50€ corset can't beat something custom made, but there are good ones out there.
I'm planning on getting back into it once my surgery is done, getting waist + back + tummy slimmed down will help so much, I bet next year I might get quite crazy waist to hip ratios with corsets.
They're not clothes, they're torture devices though. I mean who the hell needs to breathe anyway?

DiDi, I bet you'll look great in that!
Here's the one I just ordered. I've been wanting one for a while, and this is inexpensive enough for me to get an idea how to proceed. It's probably just cheap Chinese made crap, or it might actually work. If it doesn't, then I'm not out a whole lot of money.

To be honest, I'd probably just do more better with a girdle of sorts.

Yes. I feel to start and get ones feet wet is far better to get a cheeper one off Amazon or somewhere. Then access what works and doesn't before going for the costly professional ones that you need someone else to help you put it on.
I have seen some online at some stores that cater to the cross dressing community such as glamour boutique, and enfemmestyle web sites, but they're an ave price of 30-100 depending on what its made out of.
I just wanted to see if anyone had any experience in this since I'm sure I'll need every little bit to help my hip/waist/bust ratio

I'll be sure to update my experience with the one I ordered off of eBay, but I set my expectations bar kind of low.

I love corsets and I have bought many in the past.
My main advice is: don't go cheap!
What you want is thick fabric and steel boning, the more bones the better. I was super super lucky to buy a very good one from Ebay for just £40 (should cost £200) and it's definitely a different experience from the cheap stuff with plastic boning that you can get in halloween stores.
Given your body shape I would suggest you buy a "waspie", a waist cincher corset. They are the "very underbist" type that only rise to bellow your rib cage. If/when you manage to lose some muscle mass on your abdomen, you can look into an underbust corset. I found that overbust corsets struggle to adapt to very wide chests (band-wise).
If, instead, you want to try shapewear, remember to buy it a lot smaller than your size. This is because women don't usually have firm muscles on their belly and they don't expect to train their waistline using shapewear. You'll need to go super tight. Unfortunately this is likely to be a trial-and-error process ???
