Mental changes

#1

Hi all,
I experienced some mental changes and stopped taking anything.

In the last days I got more and more anxious.
I always have been someone who thinks every possibility through and moves glasses and knives to the center of the table to prevent them from falling down but the last days the negative possibilities where overwhelming and made me fearful...

Its seems to recover right now without taking anything and I hope that this goes back to normal.

Does anyone else had such experiences and what does it mean for the intake of the herbs?
Took the wrong ones?
Took to much?

Some advice?

since you did not write what you took, as well as how much and how long, no none can tell whether you took right amount of the right herb(s).
As for my somewhat related experience: I tried PM without really believing it would have any effect. This gave me breast buds and softer skin.
Then I switched to BO and now I am much more easily moved to tears than before taking anything. But I personally enjoy being more emotional.
Good luck with your recovery!

Well...
Red Clover, Red Reishi, PM, Saw Palmetto, Pygeum, Fenugreek...

Thats what was recommended in most cases + Pygeum.

I have found that some herbs can affect my sleep and anxiety levels. They can affect brain chemistry like MAOI and GABA receptors. I am not an expert just talking from what I have read and my experience with my emotions.

You can try dropping some of the herbs that you take and try taking smaller doses. I take hops 8pn, reishi and green tea extract. The doses that I take work for me. If I try to increase the doses, I can feel the anxiety and not sleep well. The doses that I am on now make me feel feminine and emotionally balanced.

I was re-checking my claims above and found that fenugreek can cause something called serotonin syndrome. You may have been experiencing the very early stages of that or you are very sensitive to fenugreek. I am sensitive to several herbs and in the past, I did read that they can an affect like MOAI and I am sensitive to that. I will feel jittery like I had too much caffeine and they can keep me up at night. Or it could simply be an allergy.

If you want to read about fenugreek or want to see the side effects of serotonin syndrome see the links below
